Awful company. Returned a car to Palma di Mallorca. Had a small amount of sand on the floors and was charged 95 euro for 'special cleaning'. The irony was the car wasn't particularly well cleaned when we picked it up. I'd stick with the more reputable companies tbh. My first and last time using RecordGo - tiny bit cheaper but really not worth the hassle and sneaky charges. The were very quick to take the money from our card but won't respond to emails or any complaints. Probably not worth the bother trying to talk to them now. Clearly it's their business model and i reckon the reps are paid commission on exaggerated fees.

Please be aware of their mal practice, I have been told at drop off that no charge will be made by one of their staff member or a dispute over a tow service. The staff member assured me that no charge will be made and let me leave. Once back in England my CC was charged twice and refunded once. be very careful not to trust choose a different company for your rental

My holiday is currently being ruined by Record go. Our hire car broke down yesterday and we called roadside assistance which sent someone to take the car away and a taxi (which we waited more than an hour for) to take me to the nearest office to get a replacement. The taxi was given an address In Benidorm where they don’t have an office! No explanation why they sent us there! We were abandoned there and I then spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to explain what had happened and they said they would send another taxi. We waited over 2 hours, it never arrived, and eventually got a train back to our villa. Next day they arranged a taxi to take me to the office at Alicante train station. When I got there they told me they had no cars! 90 minutes later I am still waiting for another taxi to take me to the airport… I have one day of holiday left and spending it sitting in a hot office waiting for a taxi which I am starting to doubt will ever come

After renting my car, I did not receive my deposit of 1400 EUR for 2.5 months from the day I returned the car. I am wondering are they unwilling to return it to me. I have put lots of efforts to write to them and call them, but they only replied will not take more than 30 days. My GOD! Is already 2 and a half month, and there is no reply from them and they do not even answer my calls!

I booked a hire car for 2 weeks in Lisbon. The car was of a poor standard with several scratches and dents. I had to pay a deposit for any damage, a fuel deposit and another one for the tolls pass. When i handed the car in, it was inspected and the member of staff told me that all was in order and that id get the deposit for the damage back in the next 24hrs and the other 2 inside the next 7 days. I received the deposit for the damage back, but I’ve not received the other 2 (totalling €200 they owe me. They are impossible to contact, phones ring out and emails do not get answered. It appears from numerous comments on social media that this is standard practice for Record Go who withhold customers deposits frequently.

We rented a Jeep Compass at Madrid airpot for 4 days. I paid the most expensive insurance package and it was just 100 Euros all-inclusive. It was smooth to pick up, except it took them 30 min to find the car. Everything was good, we returned it on time and THEN: After 1 week I saw a charge of 95 Euros in my credit card out of nowhere. I contacted them and they said it is for deep cleaning because the car was dirty. They showed me the pictures that just show that my daughter had touched her shoes on the passenger seat's back and there was some dirt there that you could wipe with a wet cloth in 10 seconds (the seats are leatherette). Stay away! They offer low prices and then make money through extra charges!

They have defaulted cars you call them to tell they send you a track u think they re good and safe and later .the garage direct verdict is nothing wrong with the car there for you pay removal track over 250 euros and cost you .they trick customers they even have an employee way of sucking online rather than face .they are sham artists. They deceive .and will deceive you to if u rent with them their defaulted cars

SHAM, ALERT!!! €504 booking ended up costing me €1165. Do not use this company! They deceived us, and violated GDPR. Full details below If you were also tricked by them, get in touch. Let’s join or forces to take them down. Don’t trust the positive reviews below, they have deceived A LOT of people. Here’s how they deceived us: 1. They undercut the reliable competitors on Rentalcars.com etc to catch my business 2. The aggressively coerced me into buying their excess waiver, made it impossible to avoid 3. They refused to print contract and T&Cs before signing and they did not explain anything from their ABSURD T&Cs. I would say they took measures to prevent me from understanding what I was signing 5. They did not provide me a contract copy after signing, neither digitally or printed 6. The recorded my wife's bank card (she’s not a party to the contract) without her consent and made a charge of 400€ on her card... which is a wrong 7. The tracked our location with the car, without our explicit consent 8. They caused a GDPR data breech by sending my contract to the incorrect email address (inexcusable, since I booked digitally and entered the correct email address) 9. The ignored my GDPR “Right of Access” request All the way, from collection to delivery, to customer service they have been aggressive, unhelpful and refused to accept any fault. This company is really disgusting!! I have rented some 50 cars before and never encountered anything like this. I feel most sorry for the employees. Get another job guys, your Mom didn't raise you to be a lifter!

Terrible place. Avoid at all cost. A sham basically, trying to get you to pay a ridiculous €200 for one week of insurance. Claiming we could not pay the deposit of €1400 with either my Amex card (which I used to make the reservation, and in the end used to pay my rental car and insurance), my wife’s MasterCard (not on my name, although she was co-driver as well) or debit card (technical reasons) or cash. In the end we paid €200, which I now will try to get back from Booking.com, the company acting as the agent.

Just stay away. They tried to sham me fixing them car damage on my money. Returned car. Staff check it but gave me nothing. Asked twice if car is ok and they said it is. After 4 hours got an email saying I'll be charged for uninsured car damage. All because I didn't paid extra insurance with them costing me more than the actual rental. Always check the car before and after. Pictures and notes. Unlawful company. I will report to the police.

Terrible experience, they will try to keep whatever they can from your deposit. When we picked up the car, it had stains on the driver and back seats. When we dropped the car off, they said we made the stains and charged us €95 for the cleaning fee! When we asked for photos of the car BEFORE the pick up they said they didn't have any photos and that it was our fault. They also took ages to respond to our emails and we had to chase them multiple times even though they were holding our deposit. We never got our money back despite requesting evidence that we were the ones that got it dirty. Appalling, sham to take away whatever they can from your deposit.

Do not book with Record Go Hired a car In Jan 2023 for 4 days. Took photos of sides, front and rear of car on pickup. On return they claimed I had damaged both interior door seals. I did not take photo of car with doors open on pickup. I did not cause this damage. Charged nearly 1000.00 Euro damage. managed to get this reduced to 430.00 Euro. Claimed the damage was in one of the few places no one would take photo. Also the letter they sent to inform me of damages had incorrect amounts listed. I assume this is a form letter. (Copy and paste). This would appear to be a policy. Do not book with this company. In addition the estimate for repair was from a company based in Madrid and prepared on a Sunday. Car was in Palma de Mallorca. It is reasonable to assume that these estimates had been used before (with date change) and may be used again. Thanks

AVOID USING THIS COMPANY. Im now in dispute for additional charges of £188.40 due to returning the car to the wrong car park. However I agreed with the attendant that they would collect it as it was 100 metres away and I had a flight to catch. They then took over a day to collect it and then had the hard neck to hit me with every charge that they could. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it as it's in the small print of the contract. However the fact they took a day to recover the car tells me they are not straight and playing games to apply extra charges. AVOID USING THIS COMPANY

Horrendous. See email chain below (anonymised) which pretty much sums up this company. Please warn all of your friends and family. Case number: X Dear Mr. X, We hereby would like to inform you that, due to your customer profile and/or to a breach of contract, our company will no longer rent vehicles to you. Sincerely, Customer Service - Record go "Dear Sir / Madam, I write to complain about the way I was treated and the manner in which my reservation noted above was cancelled. I am a record club member, email address: x. This was meant to be my first of many reservations as we have purchased a new holiday house in Malaga. However, I have and will not make any further reservations until I feel this has been resolved. I showed up with my wife and children all set with a confirmed reservation that I had already paid in advance. When a problem showed up, the lady at the desk refused to even deal with me! She told me to go away and phone customer services ! This took time, only for me to be told there was no vehicle for us. No apology. My family and I were then stranded at the airport for a long time until we managed to find a company that could rent us an appropriate vehicle. Being last minute, it cost a lot more than the reservation I THOUGHT I had with Record. I have now been refunded but would appreciate a voucher to go towards my next Record booking given how badly we have been treated and how much it cost us in the end. We booked a small category vehicle (Seat Ibiza) via Booking.com with full cover through Booking.com. In the meantime, before the trip, my card was lost and then cancelled. Since this was Christmas time, the bank took longer to issue a new card and it didn't arrive on time. At the airport we paid for the second driver, who had all his cards, but the lady at the counter said she couldn’t give us the car then. I asked if she could change the main driver. Of course, but only if she charged us extra 275 euro for full cover. She also said she had no problem showing me where it said so. Pretty rude, I’d say. There was no "Just a second, I'll talk to my manager and see what we can do". Nothing. It was like her sole goal was to squeeze out all the money she could. She left the wrong address and email and phone number in the system and on the document (mine). I checked it before she changed the driver, but she never asked us to recheck the data after. Nothing really mattered any more as soon as she took money. And we got C3 Aircross, which is twice the size we wanted. Why did we choose the vehicle category if they give us whatever they want anyway? No manual, of course. We had to look online for all the initial issues. We travel a lot and frequently rent cars. Sometimes there are unexpected problems and in such cases all the companies so far have tried to help or find a compromise. Record Go apologized. They are thankful they can benefit from my experience and improve. They'll forward the complaint to their staff manager. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to help them improve. Cost me a few, but helping companies to do better is... priceless?

Previously I recommended RecordGo and had trusted experiences and ignored all the bad reviews. There are many. But now I have been shammed like so many others. Hired a car from Alicante for a week. As my flight was before 8m I had to return the car to an unattended desk, dropping the keys. I hardly drove the car much and certainly was not aware of any damage I caused. There was extensive damage on several panels. RecordGo did refund the petrol fees they were holding. Of course, after I was out of the country and well gone, they claimed to identify a small scratch under the bumper near the wheel arch and claimed I caused this. This would not be visible from the standing position. They sent photos of the scratch but despite many requests they DID NOT send a photo showing the scratch was actually on the car I hired. It was just a photo of a panel on a similar car of the same colour. Will not provide evidence or enter into a discussion even though the car needs extensive bodywork repairs already. This industry has a practice of sending cars out with known damage that is not reported to the hirer. Then claiming damage is new. See all the other reviews. This company has not morals, rewards staff for upselling and will try to sham anyone that does not take their insurance cover. Do yourself a favour. Go elsewhere

Earlier this year, we arrived at Malaga airport to collect a pre-booked car from Record Go. Went to the car park desk and was instructed to wait outside. Stood there like a lemon for about 10 mins until a guy come out and asked if I had used the outside terminal to make a reservation. I explained I already had a reservation, but he proceeded to enter details in said terminal. After about 5 mins he said there was a problem. We went into the office and he entered details again on his PC. He eventually told us there was no car available. I asked why not and he said he didn't know. He said we would have to wait until a car became available. I asked how long and he just shrugged. I explained we had an appointment and would be late. As our reserved car was not available, we respectfully asked for an alternative. He said no. We went back and forth for about 45 mins and eventually a manager arrived looking irate. Without looking at us she started tapping at a keyboard. We asked what she was doing and she angrily said "Getting you a car". After another 10 mins, she got up, gave us the keys and agreement, and told us to follow her. I asked why she was being so aggressive and she replied because "we had demanded a car". I explained that we had booked a car in good faith and therefore had good reason to expect a car to be available. She said "If it was my choice, you wouldn't be getting a car at all". I replied that I would be conveying this to Record Go at which point she demanded the keys back and told us she wasn't giving us a car and that we wouldn't get a refund. Absolutely bizarre. There were 4 other people waiting for cars, one guy saying he had been there for an hour and a half. Bear in mind this was off-season in early May and there were loads of cars in their parking area. We eventually had to go to another supplier and pay a fortune for an alternative car. Then had to go through my credit card provider to get a chargeback from Record Go. Sent a letter of complaint back in May but never heard anything back. Horrible staff and company to deal with.

Just had the same thing happy to us. Emailed them on our return as they had taken 95 euro off of me after the fuel deposit. Returned in the 5th August, emailed them on the 6th and after one email just to tell me they had refunded fuel money, it took another email from me and a few bounced back emails as inbox full (prob full of complaints) to be told they couldn’t possibly hoover some sand up. They tried to say there was stained seats which when I saw the state of the car (after the 5 or 6 massive dents, not including the scratches) I just assumed, cheap company they don’t clean their cars, for them to blame this on me!! 95 euros for a deep clean they WILL NOT DO! Our two car seats covered the back seats the whole time so they never saw the light of day but we got blamed for that! AVOID AVOID. Stay with the reputable, I have never been asked to take a hoover on holiday or get it valet cleaned on return. Standard cleans are in the massive price we pay for renting a car.
