“Not for fainthearted”

This whole car booking business is a nightmare!! Although I must say that my experience with VIP Cars was very positive. They responded to queries quickly and clearly and there was no argument about what we had agreed. However VIP Cars appear to act as an agent or broker for Firefly ( from whom technically we were renting car in Bergamo Italy) Firefly appear to be a budget car hire company owned by Hertz who want to get back into tourist car hire business as they are currently perceived as a business car hire model. Firefly has a desk right next door to Hertz and share the car pick up and return facilities. Firefly's desk is manned by Hertz people if Firefly are not available. Help yourself to her lucky and join the Hertz desk because if Hertz deal with you they are more likely to give you a newer model car in better condition. The car I got was absolutely fine, a small Fiat runabout that was fun to drive and surprisingly comfortable. No problems with speedy service and a particularly friendly young lady from Hertz when I dropped off car. A word of advice... you can obtain an annual insurance ( in Europe Axa insurance, etc etc do it) against losses incurred throughout the punitive excess that is not covered by the normal included CDW insurance, most car hire companies will try to sell you their insurance but it is a rip off, I have cover for one year world wide rental in respect of excess liabilities for less than the cost of purchasing five days insurance at the desk! so after all that, in this case you get more than you paid for, but be careful...and help yourself to be lucky in the choice of car you receive.

“Don't use VIP Cars : bad experience ”

VIP Cars is the agent for AutoUnion in Greece. We had arranged a car in Athens, and every aspect of AutoUnion service was terrible. Late and poor delivery, non-functioning GPS, rude phone service, overcharging. VIP may be providing good service elsewhere, but they served as the agent for AutoUnion for us, and therefore should represent my interests as well. While the people on the phone at VIP were nice, they seemed ineffective in trying to fix the various problems with the company (AutoUnion) that they represent. I would urge VIP Cars to be able to resolve customer problems directly. They made the arrangements for the rental but then claimed I'd have to work with AutoUnion in Greece to address anything else. That's not fair or convenient. By the way, we live in the U.S. and have travelled extensively in the world. We understand that things may not go right and understand that delays and travel problems may occur. This is the first time I'm writing a negative review of a service entity.

“Dishonest disgusting service”

I bought my car from there drove it away within 24 hours the suspension had gone down and abs light kept coming on. Drove up to get it fixed left in with them 5 weeks no courtesy car no calls to advise when to be collected. Called collected it and after 5 weeks no work had been done on it at all. I lost work time, petrol driving and have now to fix the problems at a local garage fixed in 2 days and I have been left with a bill for 1500 pounds.They were quick to take the money and not fix the problems. Definitely give them a miss will cost you dearly and they are aa approved. Disgraceful

“Booking was easy”

The VIP Cars website provided a quick overview of the cars available including the conditions. I rented a car on the beautiful island Menorca (Spain). Unfortunately it was very busy at the desk of rental company so I had to wait a long time before I could pick up the car. The rental company Owners Cars charged me € 100 for a full tank of petrol which I was not aware of when I made the reservation. But anyway VIP Cars offers best value for money and the booking process was fast and easy. Good chance I will book again with VIP Cars in the future.

“Lisbon 2 weeks in July”

VIP Cars web site took the booking and then emailed to say the voucher would be sent when the rental company had confirmed. A few days went by and I telephoned (waste of time, just rang no reply)I then emailed them and they called me to ask if I would accept a different car. I accepted and the voucher was issued. Thinking about the car I decided a larger one would be better so emailed Support@ and after a couple of days a car was located, additional (very reasonable) cost was agreed and voucher issued. The rental company was Avis and therefore the local arrangements were very good. So, after a slow start, VIP cars support team did a good job, Thank you.

The rental fee was comparatively reasonable, and overall service was good. Although we booked nissan almera, when we arrived they said they have upgraded our car to toyota altis. But as it turned out, the altis they provided was full of accident damages, and they later said they are in fact short of cars. But apart from that, we didn't have anything much to complain. In insurance-inclusive scheme might also be more convenient if they offered it in the first place and spell things out a bit more clearly.

“Excellent Experience in Seattle”

I've rented through VIP Cars several times but this has to be the best experience so far. The Alamo desk at SEA-TAC is easy to get to, always quiet and being able to select your own vehicle is awesome. The car I chose had 300 miles on it, was very amazingly economical (I did almost 2,000 miles on my trip) and, as you would expect for a brand new car, in excellent condition. Possibly the best car rental experience I've ever had.

“Changed my booking and charged more!”

I booked a Nissan Almera with Thai Rental Car via VIP CARS for 2800THB. One day before collection date, I received a booking confirmation stating my car was booked a Honda City (smaller than the Almera) with Bugdet instead and the booking will cost 3660THB! I called VIP CARS, they told me Thai Rental Car had no cars available, that is the best they can do. As I had to travel the next day, I had to take the car. At the airport the staff at Budget tried to give a Honda Jazz (even smaller) instead, which caused an argument. "Sorry, no Honda City available". After getting a bit louder with the staff, demanding my car, they suddenly found a Honda City, by just looking into the box that contained all the keys. There where quite a few of those on the parking lot. Do not book with VIP CARS and save yourself a lot of trouble!

I dont remember names and i feel so sorry for not calling staff's names. But it is simply a wow experience, started when i was booking online. I received a call at 12am my time in UAE verifying some information on my booking "and i remember telling myself the first wow then" that person went out of his way to help me in terms of managing on delivering the car to me rather than picking it up myself. "And here is the second wow" Rates.....!!!! Were amazing "3rd wow" In lebanon, i received a welcoming call and a confirmation of delivery " wow" Very nice person came from city car explaining everything, and when i wanted to give the car back i was at a different place than where we agreed upon, yet staff had no issue coming to me to pick uo the car. Renting a car has never been easier So really thank you

Arrived at Phuket, Thailand. Cleared my passport at the immigration and when straight to search for the car rental booth. In less than 5 minutes, there in was. Registration took around 10 minutes. Was directed to wait at the arrival hall bay for pick up of the vehicle: waiting time 3 minutes. Quick check in 5 minutes, off I go the next 4 days in the car. 4 days later was directed to park my car at the departure hall bay and call them for the drop off. Waited 5 minutes for the guy to arrive and quick damage check took only a minute. Wonderful experience for me. Will definately choose you guys again for rental of vehicle.. Overall a pleasant experience with the reservation and good deal offered. However, the only inconvenient part was that your refusal to pre-notify Hertz company to cancel the booking for the GPS & Car booster seat, which created some inconvenience as they have installed the items when I went to collect the car.

VIPCars confirmed car that I booked on the website. I proceeded to book other non-refundable hotel plans. After which, they cancelled the confirmed booking and requested I pay £100 for another car. Do not trust them!
