Horrible experience. Very, very unprofessional.
I made a reservation through vipcars.com to rent a car in Costa Rica with certain terms and conditions that where clearly stated in my voucher (car damage excess, SLI excess, type of vehicle, etc)
My surprise was when I got to rental company to pick up the car, they did not acknowledge those terms and conditions (surprisedly all the excess limts where higher than what appeared in my voucher, and the car I rented through vipcars clearly stated that 5 large bags would fit in the car while in the one I got offered barely fit 2 large ones and 2 small).
All I got from the rental supplier an answer that vipcars made a mistake. I had to call vipcars to clarify the misunderstanding (a 45-minute international call) in which I had to pass the phone to the rental supplier guy to talk with the vipcars representative.
Well, after 45min of discussion there was no agreement, they did not respect the terms and conditions and all that vipcars offered me was to cancel the booking with no charges even though they openly admitted is was clear NOT my mistake. Wow, way to go! Just look the other way.
So there I was, in a foreign country, with a voucher that had certain conditions that the rental supplier will not accept, with my young kids falling asleep in the rental desk, and all I got from Vipcars was to cancel the booking with no charges and ruin my vacation because I needed the car.
Great company indeed! Shame on your shelves! Never, ever, I would use vipcars again. So unprofessional!
At the end, I had to rent the car with the higher car damage AND SLI excess limits, and assume an extra 200 USD to cover the total SLI coverage and stick with the car that clearly did not meet the description of the voucher.
Almost three weeks have passed and no answer from vipcars.
You really do not want to use this company.

Update:
What a company! Unprofessionality taken to the limit!
So after almost three weeks, they called me and they offered me to refund the initial booking expenses of around 136 euros to compensate the inconveniences above commented. It did not cover my SLI cover expenses but at least I saw a first move to compensate the customer for mistakes of their own. I accepted it to settle the matter as it is.
The surprise comes (Vipcars is full of surprises!) when I received an email that the refund would be made ONLY if I erased this feedback. On the conversation with the guy I said I would update the feedback to cover the good and the bad but I wouldn't erase it.
So the bottom line is that these guys were not compensating me for the inconveniences and their mistakes but ONLY to eliminate this bad feedback. They simple do not care to about the customer.
As you can imagine, I refused to eliminate this feedback with the hope it can help someone. The result, no refund.
Honestly, avoid this bunch of unprofessional guys. Customer experience: NEGATIVE. Horrible.
Never, ever, again.
