I had to wait for an hour before being seen to pick up the car (apparently that was not as bad as others, one having to wait over 2 hours to pick his pre-booked car up) and was then told to go and find the car in the car park nearby and inspect it and come back if I found anything wrong with it.
The car park is not well lit and, low and behold I didn't see the scratch on the underside of the wing mirror! There is no way this happened whilst in my possession as the car was parked in a one way road - unless another car drove the wrong way down the street! or in an underground car park facing a wall
Funnily enough it was found on the return in a better lit place and I was charged just over 200 euros! And that apparently is just tough...
