We picked up a car in Alicante Airport where I was told that full insurance cover would increase the booked price eighteenfold. When I declined because I had already arranged cover the attendant became irate told me that they would block off 1,400 euros from my credit card, and explained that my cover would be useless, since they could just charge me for hundreds of euros for anything they deemed and I would not be able to get any of that back. When I declined again he then started insulting us to another attendant in Spanish right in front of us. After that we inspected the car very carefully and had someone note scratches not yet marked. Even though we took the car back with no additional scratches I notice they have still taken further substantial charges off my credit card without any form of communication or explanation.

This company seems to be plumbing the depths.
