Don't Go With Gelasakis Car Rental.
The car i got had a malfunction at the window on the drivers side, just at trouble going up at times, but ended up in bits and pieces after 2 days of use. Of course they didn't believe me, i had to drive the car back, took me 3 hours, they gave another car not without making me feel i was just another stupid tourist. The car i got had an almost empty tank which they say i shouldn't complain about, that i should feel lucky they gave me a replacement car. 45 euros to fill it up straight away. And they finally charged me 70 euros for the window. Saying with a grin that i should have say something about it right away even though the window worked ok at first and that I was gone far from their "agency ". And they knew that the window had a problem. Rude people not speaking very good english. I got punished for trying to find a cheaper car rental. Gelasakis is the worst, trust me.

Gelasakis Car Hire Chania
This company had blocked my credit card for 15 days, 650 euros blocking many purchases, in an older reservation a month ago.
Note that there was not any damage to the car I had hired, as all the amount was returned after 15 days with not a single charge!
As I visited for one day trip Chania (I do this trip regularly) my sister by mistake called "Gelasakis Car hire" and booked for me a car in a really low price just to help me in the trip. They also accepted the fact that at the specific trip -as it was unexpected -I didn't have a credit card with me.
When arriving at the airport, nobody was waiting for me,and from Gelasakis Company they had given me a mobile No of the employee at the airport which I called:
He told me that there was no such a deal and that he wouldn't rent the car for such a low price. I said if that was the deal that was made with the company earlier, he should respect the -lower price- previous deal.He denied that.
I didn't take the car because of this behaviour.
When I called the company to complain and told them also about my other older incident with the credit card, they refused it and among other excuses they said:
1. That there are 2 Gelasakis companies in Chania (!) and as they couldn't find my reservation,they claimed that probably I had made my older reservation to the other one (!).
In an effort to support this claim,they tald mealso that they don't accept credit cards (company's policy !!!which car hire company doesn't?) When the telephone numbers I had called were the same as in the previous voucher/booking, and my sister had called the same tel.number.
Later they accepted that...
2. They said that probably the employee at the airport is from the other company!!(when they were the ones that they had given me his No in the first place!!)
3.After a few minutes they admitted finding my older reservation from Atlaschoice in their archive, they said that earlier couldn't find it because it was in Latin letters and they were looking for it in greek letters !!!!
It seems that for this company when you are a client, even if they are wrong, it is hard to accept it and prefer to consider the client stupid and treat them with childish excuses.
A simple "sorry", or ""we apologize, there was a mistake in the process or the deal" would be enough or appreciated. Instead they used all bunch of ridiculus excuses to cover themselves,just to put the blame on the client.
Avoid them.
