Booked a car with discover cars due to the advertised free cancellation. However after nearly 2 months and many emails to customer service I still cannot get a refund after cancelling my booking. Terrible service, definitely avoid!

I rented a car through Locauto in Italy, via DiscoverCars, taking out full insurance. During the rental I had a tire tear, after falling into a hole on a road in Italy. I made all the payments to Locauto for the expenses, presented the receipts to DiscoverCars and in less than 48 hours, my full refund was approved, including for the taxi I used. The service is fast, attentive and of high quality, I recommend it to everyone.

We used Discover Cars for our trip to NZ as they provided the most cost effective prices. The full comprehensive insurance was also very cost effective and highly recommended. I am really grateful to have purchased the Full Coverage from DiscoverCar. We have an accident on our long trip in Europe. My deposit was held up pending the final invoice. It took more than 8 weeks to have the Car fixed and the Final Payment amount determined. The Customer Satisfaction Specialist was patient and helpful. Just two days after I submitted the Final Invoice from Rental Car Company. My re-imbursement from DiscoverCar is already on the way !!!

“Dont use this company”

Dont use this company got a car with service lamp, tire and anti spin lamp was on. They said that its no problem, ”The mechanic forgot too take it away” Order a babychair and it was too diry too use. Dident take the car, they took the deposit of 1400 euro and I got it back 3 months later and lost 100 euro beacuse its not the same rate anymore. Dont use this company you will only have problem.

We took a car from Faro airport. There is a shuttle from the airport to the office, it was very easy and well programmed. At our arrival, the stuff was reactive, professional and very very nice. We got our brand new clean car very quickly and gave it back as easily. I'm not even talking about how cheap and competitive the prices were. This a trustworthy company, I definitely recommend.

Very positive experience with Discovercars. Everything in the transaction process performed as advertised, no gimmicks or gotchas. In 2022 I had to cancel a reservation due to a change in itinerary. This created a credit, with a 25% bonus in my account. I could have gotten a refund, but I chose credit as I know I would be returning to Europe soon. A year later, I was able to easily use this credit for my 2023 trip, with no hoops to jump through. Also bought collision damage waiver on discovercars which turned out to be a great decision as I scraped the rims of my rental car in the narrow streets of rural Majorca! The entire claim process was done online with a few clicks to upload documents and within a week, I got my claim paid via Paypal! Will use again.

Has anyone found someone in customer support that is able to assist with an existing case? I am having an issue filing a claim and it appears no one at Discover cars is available to engage or escalate at this point. We had a not so great experience with the rental car vendor (America Cars in Mexico) and they will not release the final invoice for the damage of a popped tire. They do not deny that the damage occurred, or that we were covered by Discover Cars, and I do have the receipt and bank account statement. They just are not providing the final invoice. They are claiming that this is our own fault for booking with Discover Cars as opposed to purchasing insurance directly from them. Discover Cars will not refund without the final invoice. Has anyone encountered this before? Any tips to resolve? Seems odd that Discover Cars would partner with a vendor that will not cooperate in getting them what they need to provide a customer what they paid for (insurance that covers a flat).

Hi! I have not credit card, only debit card! If they do not accept it, I cancel the reservation. I read they don't give money back but give credit points. This is true? What can I do?

You may have to accept credit points for another journey if you cancel. You always have to use a credit card when it comes to rental

Sometimes the price differential relates to whether the car can be picked up and dropped off rom the airport or not. Discovery do provide this from one of the car parks at Faro which to me is worth paying a bit extra over those that drive you off to some pick up point in Faro.

Second driver prices differs from region and car rental agency, when selecting desired location and period of travel, you are able to see the prices under each car "Rate & Car details".

I have never heard of this company. The prices seem to good. Has anyone used them in Orlando? How did you get to the their offices? They are around 6 miles from the airport. Any feed back will be appreciated.

I have used them a couple of times to rent vehicles in Portugal. they are a broker, they arranged our car though local car hire companies, once with Europa another time with International Car Hire. prices were good. had no problems with them at all. hope this helps Cheers
