good service all round

Absolutely atrocious, probably some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Do not book a hire car through this sham of a company, you may find yourself stuck in a foreign country and having to deal with the awful human being I had to deal with.

Ruined the start of our holiday completely.

I found out on arrival at the hire car company in Italy that I had to place a £1,000 deposit to cover the excess of the hire car.

This was not clear at all during the booking process but putting that completely to one side, the individual I had to deal with when calling for assistance was appalling.

Completely rude, condescending, unhelpful and absolutely inflamed what was already a very difficult situation to be in, in a foreign with your wife and 4 young children stranded.

All he wanted to do was constantly hammer me with the sentiment that this was my fault and I didn't read the terms etc rather than helping me find a solution or taking any responsibility.

I booked with them because they were the cheapest, I got what I paid for.

If I could give zero stars I would.

When we booked it was to discover it was a small local car hire, however we had no problems and I liked that we were not charged for fuel, we only had to bring back the car with the same amount of fuel which was in the car when we picked it up. Also the first car broke down ten minutes after we picked it up, luckily we were near a garage and my husband was able to call the care hire and they came straight away and changed the car without any problem. I think we were just unlucky.

Great service - no problems!

I used a car hire comparison site to find the cheapest car hire with a fair fuel policy whilst traveling abroad. Car Hire Depot came up the cheapest at £8.60 a day for a compact car. Booking was a cinch, however I did have to ring their premium rate line when I didn't receive my order confirmation voucher. It took 3 attempts to get through to an operator but when I finally got through the operator was extremely helpful & forwarded me the required documentation immediately. Overall it was a good experience.

Booking done a couple of months in advance and the emails came thro' right away to confirm and receive our car hire voucher, on arrival I went straight to the hire office at Faro Airport and was away in 5 mins in a Ford Fiesta which although it was not new it was well looked after and had a wee kick in the accelerator pedal, had it for 2 weeks with no problems and on taking it back I was met by a company rep who checked the car over and again I was away in 5 mins. no problems no hassle just what you want excellent.

This was the best engine I could find to get a good price on a car and filter out the companies that did not have a fair fuel policy.

Everything about hiring a care from car hire depot was fantastic. From the easy to use website, the collection at the airport, the reception staff, the car, especially the fuel policy which allowed us to return the car full of fuel instead of being ripped off like most car hire companies do as they make you return the car empty and charge you a fortune for a tank of fuel. The car itself was brand new although we only paid for a basic car. Since returning we have recommended to lots of our friends. We will definately use car hire depot from now on. Great value for money.

Site was quick and received my email confirmation almost straight away. Emailed customer services with a question and again received a swift reply.

Was not totally satisfied with Best Deal in Faro but understand that Car Hire Depot are not to blame for this service.
