“Problem after probelm”

Ordered a new van in November 2015, was told that it would be ready in June. Received a call mid March to say van was here and could I collect, I explained I was away with work but could collect in mid April. On the week of agreed collection, I receive a call to say they had lost both sets of keys. Can we rearrange a new collection date for 29th April. This date passes with still no keys available, no idea when they will arrive. New keys arrive the following week, but they try and start the new van with no immobiliser on the key steel. This fries the ecu and makes the van totally unusable. Continued to fill me with B/S and not one apology. Now mid May and still no van, but they appear to be getting there. I asked for some sort of goodwill for all the messing about, basically told that it won't happen. Won't buy from them again, despite all the amazing promises given at the time of placing order. Rubbish........

“Avoid Like The Plague”

I bought my car from Lookers Ford in Sheffield, it was my first car and I thought that getting it from a proper dealer was a safe option. I had multiple issues with Lookers in Sheffield. 1) The finance company overpaid by £600. No big deal in the real world and they asked Lookers to refund my deposit of £600 as it was easier than recalling the transfer to their account and re-sending. Lookers agreed and when I went to pick up the car they told me finance would raise a Cheque and it would be with me in two weeks. - 4 Weeks later and I had not received it. I called the sales man who said sorry and called finance. He then came back to me and told me 2 weeks. - 3 Weeks passed and I still had not had it. I called however the sales man was on sick with stress. Staff kept telling me I had to wait for the sales man to come back off sick. I spoke to a manager who said he would investigate and come back to me in 24 hours. - 4 days passed, no call. I emailed Lookers head office - 3 days later the same manager called me and told me it was being sent out special delivery. - 8 weeks for a refund? I don't have to say anything more on it. 2) I took my car for a service 9 months after I bought it. The Mechanic calls me to tell me its done. He then has a word with me, Lookers had fitted a part that was discontinued over 2 years ago. An oil filter that had been changed because there had been cases of it snapping and you would lose oil pressure. - I called lookers and spoke to a manager in sales. Who was more angry that service had charged them for this part than me receiving a poor service. - The manager told me he would get back to me. - He called me next day, and asked me to send over the notification of this discontinued / modified part because they were not aware of it - I emailed over a copy of the document, I even got the read receipt. The manager never called. - By this point I had had about enough of Lookers as I could take so I decided to take them to small claims court. - Within a few days of them receiving the paperwork I had a manager on the phone being quite rude,claiming I had never tried to resolve my issues with them. They then tried to bully me by telling me I would not win and they would counter sue but as a gesture of good will they would give me a free service when its due. I hung up on them. - The court ruled in my favor and I was awarded £500. Which it took... guess what 8 weeks to send a cheque. Amazing. 3) When I bought the car and was going to pick it up It was stressful. It should not have been this bad. When are you coming down to pick it up? Can you bring x y and z down. Why dont you get finance with us? We need you to come down to go through X Y and Z. It involved 5 trips before I had even picked it up! 4) Around my MOT and service time I was hounded by calls and texts from them. Despite asking to be taken off lists I am still getting a call a day and text a day saying its due. - Due to bad service in the past I took it elsewhere. In short... don't go to Lookers Ford. If you have to go to a dealership you are better off going to one further away thats not owned by the lookers group.

“They ask for MORE money!”

I took the usual initial lies with a roll of the eyes, ’I’m losing money selling it at the price it’s on for,’ etc, etc. Started to get a little irritating when I got a lot of calls in the week before I picked up the car, ‘My manager didn’t put it in the diary when you we’re coming in to sign the finance,’ ‘What time are you coming to pick up the car?’ ‘Can we change the time you’re coming to pick up the car?’ What time did we say you’re coming to pick up the car?’ You get the idea. It really turned to harassment after I’d bought the car though. Despite having paperwork demonstrating I’d paid for the car in full, I started getting daily calls demanding a further £200. These included emotional blackmail, ‘If you don’t pay another £200 they will take it out of my wages,’ (they told me they were an honest family business – guess that was another lie) and also ‘If you’re an honest customer I’m sure you’ll come in any pay another £200.’ I’ve had to block them calling me again. Be VERY aware of what they’re like before you buy from these guys. Look elsewhere
