Sadly after a couple of years of generally good experiences with Simply Business, I've just been stung by their automatic renewal sham - 25% increase in premium followed by theft of the money from my account 9 days before the policy was due to renew. No quote, no reminder.

Company had no interest in resolving the matter, so fraudulent payment claim put in with my bank to recover the money.

As a heads up for anyone else dealing with this unpleasant excuse of a company - you can permanently flag them as blocked with your bank: this won't stop them taking from you at (or well before!!) renewal time, but it will guarantee return of the money within 24 hours. And they get fined, so that's good too
