The admin staff were extremely helpful throughout the whole process. The surveyor was extremely knowledgeable and informative. The workmen were very courteous and clearly very experienced at their jobs. I would certainly recommend anyone experiencing damp problems in their property to talk to Timberwise. If only the 'rest of the world' did what they said they were going to do and kept one as well informed from start to finish of a job! Well done Timberwise!

We wanted a basement damp proofed and converted into a self contained flat, and we were told that they could oversee the entire job. We said we wanted a cost for the whole job, and they agreed to estimate this, and we agreed to pay £90 + vat for the survey. We spoke on more than one occasion and everything was clearly agreed. When the surveyor came, he was only there for about 30 minutes, and was not interested in looking at very much detail. When the report came, it gave a price for damp proofing the walls and floor, but nothing else at all. When I spoke with them and asked where the detailed report was, they said that they only wanted to do the damp proofing, so we had paid over £100 for 30 min work plus about 10 min for the report which said very little except the cost of the work. Additionally, they even put down an additional cost of over £800 for insurance to insure the work they wanted to carry out. Needless to say we will not be engaging them to carry out any work, as we clearly cannot trust what the say they will do. If you do intend to use timberwise, I would suggest you get everything in writing, before they do any work or take any money, better still find someone else.

From start to finish, Timberwise were really professional. All the necessary work was explained to me and was completed according to the timetable we agreed - and which allowed me to clear rooms in succession as required. A very tidy job, with as little disruption as was possible with all rooms requiring treatment.

Timberwise were very professional and did a speedy job installing a new damp proof course and then replacing all the joists and floorboards. I was especially grateful for the spped of service as the replacement of all floor joists and floorboards was unexpected as the damp was far worse than initially thought. The work was messy but they did an excellent job of clearing up after themselves. I now have new joists and floor boards and a floor that feels solid.

Thanks to Timberwise for sorting out the issue and also confirming that there wasn't damp in places another company said there was! Thanks also to the surveyor who confirmed the problem was wet rot and not the more serious dry rot. The work you carried out was done professionally and by friendly work men, with as little fuss and mess as was possible.

Treatment for woodworm!! The surveyor and the technician provide an excellent service both considerate to my concerns around disruption to my home. They both made a worrying experience run as smooth as possible leaving my home as though they had never been! Thank you both and thank you Timberwise. Booking a survey was easy and the surveyor was punctual and knowledgeable. He gave me confidence that the required damp treatment was sufficient to relieve the internal damp problem. His survey was thorough and he explained everything. The technician who was injecting the chemical treatment turned up on time and performed his task efficiently. The next day the plasterer arrived and removed the plaster on the internal walls up to 1 meter from the skirting. This was a very dirty job, and very dusty. He did his best to protect the house and cleaned up after. His plastering was of top quality and again he left our house clean and tidy.

I am the customer of a developer using Timberwise to resolve some staining coming through the walls of the Grade 2 listed apartment in which I live. The service given by Timberwise has been absolutely appalling to say the least. I have waited in countless times for tradesmen to turn up and they never do or they turn up later than the time agreed. It is now 11.30 a plasterer should have been on site for no later than 9.00 this morning. I have since learnt that once again they will not be appearing as agreed approximately 2 weeks in advance. The work completed so far on site is satisfactory however has not been finished. It has been left to myself to remove the plastic carpet protector and dust sheets in the interim period (from the job being started). I would not recommend this damp specialist to anyone. I will be looking for compensation for my time wasted over the last couple of months!

I was very happy with the finished work done by TIMBERWISE, if asked I would recommend they try them first. they were very tidy and also replaced the skirting boards with new ones where there were problems.

The response to my initial call was quick and professionally handled. The surveyor was able to arrange the survey when it was convenient to us and he then provided a fair and honest assessment of the work required. The subsequent assessment report contained details drawings and relevant costings. The work was carried out efficiently and in a timely manner by a very courteous and professional technician. In overall terms, we were very satisfied by the work carried out and the professionalism of the people involved.

My experience with Timberwise has been very disappointing. I bought a property that Timberwise had installed damp-proof coursing in previous to my purchase. Since my solicitor and previous owner did not ensure the guarantee was transferred into my name i was forced to pay £120 for the guarantee to be transferred. The cost does not appear to reflect the amount of work involved, which was to print off a single piece of paper with my name on it. I was then concerned damp remained and so i was made to feel under ransom from the company to obtain a copy of the report of the work that had been done, again £60 for the company to email me a pdf containing 5 pieces of paper does not appear to reflect any care for their customers. I then asked for a repeat survey to check that the previous damp-proofing had been successful and received a visual 15minute inspection for which i was charged £180. This company has little regard for customer service and no goodwill, it takes you for every penny it can. I would not recommend dealing with this company.

From the start of looking for basement waterproofing this firm has been very helpful. The website was good, the surveyors visit was good and the quote helpful. There was no pressure to proceed. The main work was done by a man who worked like a Trojan! It was very hard work and he worked tirelessly. He was very clean and a fantastic time keeper. The electricians were also very pleasant and helpful and did a very good explanatory session at the end of the work. It is not a cheap answer to stopping the cellar from mild flooding but with the ever increasing unpredictability of the weather it feels much better to have waterproofed the cellar at last. I asked for a few quotes to look at the need for woodworm assessment. The surveyor from Timberwise was polite, careful, clearly explained what needed doing and what could be done but was probably the gold plating option. This was in stark contrast to those form other companies, including one who tried to get me to employ him direct rather than the company he was working for. Setting a date for the work was easy and again the man sent out to do the work was polite, knowledgeable and careful. Finally the price was very competitive. Overall I was very satisfied with the service I received.

The survey I had carried out on my property indicated that timber treatment was required. Timberwise were the first company I came across when searching online in my area and I have to say the whole process couldnt have been easier! Really friendly staff, prompt service by a trustworthy technician - I really cant fault it! I now have a 25 year guarantee which will no doubt be an asset when or if I come to sell the proerty in the future. Having woodworm in your home - and the expense and hassle that comes with it - is a pretty terrifying experience for any homeowner, not least because most insurance companies don't cover it. The only silver lining in a pretty grim situation was Timberwise who I found prompt, courteous and extremely knowledgable. I had two free consultations (pretty staggering in itself as many other companies were charging hundreds of pounds just to come and take a look) and on both occasions, despite it being free, the surveyor took a lot of time both to examine the problem and explain solutions to me - all in a really nice manner. (Oh and he took his shoes off at the door too!) The treatment he suggested was also considerably cheaper than other companies and he was very straight about what was necessary and what would be an uneccessary expense. For matters relating to woodworm, I couldn't recommend them highly enough and while I hope I don't have to use them again, if I had a similar problem in the future, I would be on the phone to them straightaway!
