It drops every single day and I have to reset router. Ridiculous

Thus company has got to be JOKING!!! They grab your money upfront without explanation as to what I'd happening. I paid for a new line installation, £65 mind you and never even needed a new line, I was asked to call some number and then call them back with it which I did, never got the money back. Then there was a delay for some reason and I have been waiting more than 2 weeks now after a promise of 5 days. Shocking. More money taken at sign up and still no service. Need to repeat myself to everyone I speak to. No notes? Customer strive are clueless. Truly appalling. Router is rubbish and only works on 2.4GHZ rendering my expensive wireless music system useless as it uses 5.4GHZ. I am done with this company and urge others to look elsewhere for reliable professional Internet. Please avoid the headache and save yourself the hassle as well as money. Just saying. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Delays, failed promises, poor speeds and reliability. Staff are clueless, talk of these guys and excellent customer service is way off... back to my old isp I think. My router (which is the third one I've had sent) still resets every hour without fail. They have a very long way to go before even being mentioned in the same sentence as sky or virgin media, both or far better in every area.

Recently swapped to Tentel from BT as our broadband with BT kept dropping out (BT sent engineer out at a cost of £130 and did not fix it). We were convinced it was a simple router problem but BT wouldn't change the 5 year old router. Time for a change, told BT to stick it and swapped to Tentel. What a difference! UK based customer service, quick and friendly response, easy setup (plus flexibility of their no contract policy). Once connected we have a stable, faster connection and half the price of BT. Would highly recommend, we're just sorry we didn't move away from BT sooner!

Line Rental + 5GB/month broadband + 60 mins/month call package. Went live this morning, so little yet to go on to give ratings. So far, so good. Both phone and broadband went live by 10am Activation Day, and the router came on without fuss. I did a speed check last night (with my old supplier) and this morning (with Tentel) and got the following readings: Download 3.4Mb/s > 2.5Mb/s Upload 0.31 MB/s > 0.66 Mb/s Ping 72ms > 67 ms This is normal for round here (3 miles from rural exchange) and suggests no change. I've only ever expected 2Mb/s downloads here. Telephone quality very clear. Error when logging on to 'My Tentel' account page. Customer Service (with Scottish accent) answered after fourth or fifth ring, which is very good, and said he'd reset my password. [Email not come by 5pm - suggests problem with website] He explained the limitations of My Tentel - that it doesn't yet provide much useful information, but they're working on it. There is not yet any easy way to log bandwidth and call allowance used. An email at 75% broadband usage, and a message when the calls go over £15 in the month is all that's on offer. I think that's how they make their money, relying that not too many people are canny at counting the minutes, or really cannot be bothered to. I quite like a business model that makes money from those who want to avoid the bother of keeping a log and being careful, but also can reward those prepared to take a bit of care keeping costs down. Seems stereotypically canny Scottish! What is nice is that there is no connection charge, just 10p or 15p / min. This is what attracted me years ago to the old Post Office HomePhone before they slapped on connection charges. It should mean therefore just one straight minute if you get voicemail or a wrong number. It is wise therefore to log manually both bandwidth and 01,02,03 calls made, especially with a calls package. 60 minutes can go very fast. Beware too that 03 calls made to Tentel Customer Services may count against the allowance, which is a bit naughty - the Free 150 service advertised on the Start Guide does not actually exist. The telephone habits are different here - better to use the landline for short calls to geographic numbers at any time, but use VOIP for long calls, and calls to mobiles, international and non-standard lines such as 0845 and 0870. No need to think about peak times though. They get quite sniffy about using your own router. For as long as the supplied router works ok, I'll stay with that, but I had to assure them when asking for configuration settings that I'd only use them on their own router. If something does go wrong, then of course I'd test it on my old router using the configuration settings, but so far all is well. I'll give it a month or two before deciding whether to go for the prepaid 12 month contract offer.

I have had a terrible experience with this service and recommend others stay away. Installation over 16 days after the agreed date. couldn't get it connected they kept blaming open reach but my contract is not with them Then they charged for over usage I phoned agreed the increase specifically checking that the service would not be interrupted No they said definitely not. Then they cut it off. No response from customer service to my complaint .The only time they write is for payment ! i have spent over 4 hours on the phone trying to get a response . Dreadful and the final straw as they are part of talk talk my bank details may not be secure . i am terminating my agreement and if they chose to sue I will be very happy to fight it dreadful avoid at all cost

Long wait times to talk to their support staff who dont call you back when promised, delays getting online, they don't really deliver on what they say. Really poor, should have stayed with virgin.

Newly back to the UK and about to sign a 6 month rental lease, I was looking for a month to month broadband / telephone package without hefty line connection charges (as in BT) Not much choice out there but I decided to try Tentel. Very easy sign up with their customer service. They followed up quickly with an activation date and soon after I received the router box. Moved in yesterday and in literally 5 minutes all was connected and up and running, with good speeds for this area. So, so far so good and I'm very happy I chose Tentel. Keep up the good work!

Can't say enough good things about these guys, had first class service from them. Great broadband and thier staff that actually care about customers. Been with Virgin and Sky, neither of them could lace Tentels boots!
