Hoops123's review of AA Breakdown Cover

“Awful recovery service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hoops123 on 14/09/2018

Beware of joining the AA. The service was awful for us, it took forever to get through on the phone and we learnt that in certain parts of the UK, they subcontract out the recovery vehicles. We recently broke down on the M5 near Exeter in a dangerous position. There were 4 of us including a 12 year old and my 89 year old Mother who has a heart condition. It took us 45mins to get through to the switchboard and 2 different tow trucks were used to transport us back to Bristol. We reported the breakdown @ 5pm and got home @ 1a.m. The communication between the sub contractor and the A.A. was appalling and we were apparently a priority. We complained about the service, but we were informed it takes up to 8 weeks to reply. They didn't reply after this time, so I had to complain again and we were awarded small compensation. Avoid this once great Company and go elsewhere.
