Introduction To Douglas Adams

Douglas Adams is best known as the British author who created Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent in the best selling novel, The HItch-Hiker's Guide to the Universe and it's subsequent follow up books, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe and Life, the Universe and Everything.

He is also well known to Doctor Who fans having penned three episodes starring Tom Baker.

After his sudden death in 2001, fans set up a day of tribute to Adams and aptly named it Towel Day. Devotees spend the day carrying a towel around with them in the style of a true hitch hiker.
