Could'nt Live Without It

I bought my Vitamix around 8 years ago and use it regularly for smoothies, grinding nuts and making soup etc.
I am careful not to zap up the speed too quickly or leave it on high for too long as the motor starts to smell a little. I'm not too bothered by this....I had an old Kenwood mixer which did this and stupidly I did'nt heed the warning and blew the motor !
You do have to be careful, remember it has a hugely powerful motor and yes it CAN overheat.
Use it with moderation and it's an absolute boon and especially good if you plan on eating more raw stuff and if you love smoothies.
I'd have preferred that mine included a small jug as well as I have often found the large one too big for my own use. They are expensive to buy seperately but I got one anyway. that's my main complaint, otherwise I really wanted to balance out all the bad bad comments here, quite unjustly I think.
