The person I spoke to on the phone was really helpful & enabled me to place my order. However bike arrived not to spec & I had to get a local bike shop (cost £50) to put it together properly. “Insurance “replacement” of our stolen bikes”

Our 2 cubes bikes where stolen, don’t worry they said, your Admiral policy covers you so they will be replaced, less £75 compulsory excess. Cool, then I’m passed to Wheelies and told that “accessories” are only covered to 10% of the value of the bike, so I make that £150 on my £1500 bike. So I’m going to be out of pocket as I had about £450 spent on quality accessories, and I wasn’t warned of any of this by Admirral. My insurers insisted that I procured replacement bike through you. Not a good experience. The delivery slot was 8 am to 6 pm with 1 days notice & a refusal to ring ahead so my wife could come from work. This is poor customer service. I had to fix pedals, pannier rack & mudguards. There was no5 adjust offered which I get if I buy a bik3 through a retailer. This procurement is not a good offer for the custome4 & I think the charge fo4 bike & components was high. Poor. Poor. Had my bike stolen and my insurance company sent me a voucher for Wheelies, no complaints on the choice of bike plus accessories. I asked them to fit the accessories (pannier rack and mnudguards) to my bike prior to dispatch (says on their website they do this) which they agreed to do. Had to chase them for a delivery date twice, apparently my bike took longer than they expected to get to them from the warehouse. Have been forced to use this company by my insurer. Found a poor selection of bikes equivalent to my stolen bike (a Raleigh hybrid) and key frame sizes often unavailable. Delivery window is 8am (or 9am - staff appear to be unsure) until 6pm weekdays only: for a Saturday delivery you have to pay £40. I elected to get my stolen Specialised cirrus Sport replaced with exactly the same bike. Although green was advertised there was no green bike available. I chose the less conspicuous black/chrome. A two-day delivery was the promise. 5 days after ordering I get an email telling me it will be delivered in 4 days time. Having a Bike stolen is stressful enough but then dealing with wheelies didn't help. Firstly it's bad enough that AA insurance sell you out to these companies to deal with your validation and replacements. Secondly I don't really want a Bike I hav'nt seen, sat on or tried out. In the end I didn't use Wheelies. They are the company that supply the validation service for my insurance provider but their stock is limited overpriced. My insurance company ok'd the replacement of my bike, damaged by a car. They passed the replacement over to wheelies. I had to ring repeatedly over weeks, always had to leave a message, they replied once, not the damages team that replied. I had to send all the paperwork the insurance company had seen to wheelies twice. why?. So, some scroat breaks into an outbuilding in full cctv view steals carbon road bike and assorted aaccessories. AXA couldn't have been more helpful. Wheelies did call me and took details of what was stolen only required pics as proof rather than receipts. Produced a valuation based on new replacement from their I think expensive website. I had my Cube Acid (27.5) stolen from my garden. The initial uptake from Wheelies was very prompt, they rang later that morning. After that it all went down hill. In summary, they had to contact me multiple times (during my working day) and kept me waiting on the line 'while I just adjust that order' for so long. Wheelies were knowledgable and helpful in sorting out my replacement bike. They assured me that the bike I chose would arrive "ride ready". When it turned up I made the reasoable adjustments to the handlebars but the headset was dangerously loose. “Prompt, but poor website and selection & dodgy build...”

Had to use Wheelies/BRS because of my insurer and couldn't get the bike I wanted. Couldn't get the bike I wanted or a close replacement. Website is not easy to use/search. Build quality is a bit dodgy. One bike arrived damaged through the post and had a brake cable the wrong way round. The only components I bought were pedals, to save the faff of fitting, and these don't come fitted in any event. Grips and tape poorly fitted. The frame was on the website but took nearly 4 weeks to arrive, this was not mentioned. I was contacted on numerous occasions to confirm the date, which adds nothing, but then on the date it was supposed to be delivered no contact was made and I had to chase up. Naturally it was late. This relates to a swap for a bike. The one we originally ordered turned out to be to small for my daughter, so we ordered a replacement. This is rather straight forward, but there is a £35 swapping fee. The fee itself is quite considerable, so you better get it right the first or second time round. Though I can understand why the fee is levied, this is one disadvantage compared to buying the bike from a shop. I was using wheelies as they are contract suppliers for replacements in my insurance. Wheelies didn't have the type of bike I wanted and said as it was a replacement service rather than cash insurance I would just have to choose from their range but that I could sell the bike and buy the other one if I wanted.
