I can't fault the team at Wheelies Direct for getting in touch quickly and always being polite ansd friendly on the phone. However, getting them to answer the phone, or respond to messages was another matter. To be fair 2 stars could be harsh but there is no half option! My bike was stolen and a replacement delivered within 8 days. That's pretty good you might think and you would be correct. However had I not taken it upon myself to hassle wheelies daily I suspect I would still not be with a bike. It could be argued that the email system and chat feature are poor. “Poor customer service”

Following theft of my bike my insurer told me Wheelies would sort out my replacement bike ( which I use for my work commute each weekday ) within days. In fact it took nearly a month. After an initial call to them to go through at length the replacement items needed I was promised an email with alternative bike options since they could not supply the stolen make. “Difficult to deal with”

They seem to have a very limited stock of bikes, with new stock due in 2015!!! found it difficult to get through to them on the phone. Had to spend hours during the working day to sort out a replacement and probably spent a few of those hours on hold. When the goods arrived it was missing certain products. Really not finding this a nice experience and sadly its not yet over, as my bike appeared damaged - and plainly was damaged when it was despatched, as this wasn't a transit knock, but scratches made during assembly - which were plain to see. From start to finish, I found using this company (replacement bike for my insurance claim) a real pain - inconsistent costs, money to spend, lack of knowledge, no call back, no email responses, long periods on hold. “Still waiting for replacement”

The exact replacement bike was not available so another bike was suggested to me, however after research online I found this was a lower level / spec bike than original. Calling back to change the model was met with 20minutes of no and resistance. Then after spending 4 calls and over an hour on hold a bike was sent. It arrived and was the wrong size. Insurance replacement started well. Dealt with advisor who helped select replacement of similar spec and the right size. That had to be ordered which was fine and it came in on the date suggested and delivery was arranged. It didn't arrive on the agreed delivery date when I had taken the day off at which point I got to experience a lot of the recorded music. Staff were really polite and apparently helpful, spending a long time on the phone advising us regarding appropriate accessories for the replacement bike. They advised that accessory choice was limited and they could recommend the best fit! We couldn't get the helmet that we wanted. We had to change the style of bicycle. Well I was told I was going to get a direct replacement for one of the bikes I had stolen and they tried to fob me off with a poorer version. I had to go online as we were talking to check out what they offering and I refused it. They then said I could have a slightly better spec bike but that would mean I wouldn't get the accessories I had nicked - two sets of lights and a lock. The wheelies team were fantastic, when you finally managed to contact them. Every time I tried to contact them there was a long wait, typically 15-20 minutes on hold, if I didn't run out of time and give up. Leaving messages or requesting callbacks didn't get a response. ..... On the other hand, the staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and nice to deal with. Cannot fault the actual replacement bike in any way. However, I had great difficulty contacting Wheelies. Was on hold waiting for up to 20 minutes and then not called back after selecting the option to leave a message in place of holding more than once. When you get through to someone however they are really knowledgeable and helpful. My advice is to be ready for their call and manage everything at that time. Ugh. They were slow to respond at every point in the process -- replacing my stolen bike has taken at least 6 weeks now. I was told by the insurance company that Wheelies would call me to discuss the replacement bike -- Wheelies' initial contact was a text message asking me to call them. Classy. “Disappointing service and took too long to repair”

I am insured with "Protect Your Bubble" who use Wheelies as their bicycle repairs service. After reporting my accident to Protect, sending the pictures and describing the problems, I had to go through the same process again with Wheelies who disputed Protect's assessment.
