Despite all negative reviews, I have a good experience with this airport. I arrived more than 2 hours earlier but from arrival to after security check it only took 20 minutes ... I used self service for checking in my bag and then used fast track for security check (5 GBP charge) but regular waiting lines were not bad at all, it would go quickly even without fast track choice. Staff was nice and polite.
I must admit that the airport was very crowded, almost like a stadium and that waiting halls don't have enough seats to be comfortable for all. I enjoyed shopping and there were plenty of options to buy food or coffee, too. It would definitely contribute to more comfort for travelers if gate numbers would be announced sooner so the crowd would be distributed into gates rather than gathering in one waiting hall. Gates areas seemed empty.
I would definitely use the airport again.
