michaelmaccallum's review of Emirates

“OK to poor”

★★★☆☆

written by michaelmaccallum on 03/04/2013

I changed from my normal airlines as Emirates were a vastly cheaper option to fly London-Dubai-Durban return with my wife and 15 month old.
The cabin crew talk the talk about looking after you when boarding, but then lose all interest once in the air.
First drinks 4 hours after takeoff, and after the meal too.
Cabin crew were very surly, and unhelpful, on the verge of inconsiderate to my boy.

Economy Class in A380 is excellent.
Unfortunately this was the first leg only, changed to boeing 777 for longer second leg. Economy class on this plane is horrific, with no better attitude from the crew.

On the return I was without my son, and the same applied to the plane and crew, apart from the Dubai-London leg where the crew were excellent.

I took 4 flights in 10 days with Emirates, all 4 departed an hour late.

I regret flying Emirates, although my mother in law swears by them. I think she thinks they are great as she is inexperienced with flying though and does not know better.

I shall not fly Emirates again, and I don't think they care to be honest.
