Great Store Staff, Dreadful Customer Service

I had a small wedding in Scotland where my Maaid of Honour wore a gorgeous Berketex ballgown. I was having a second ceremony and big celebration in the USA a year later, March 26th 2017, just passed so I ordered two more dresses of the same type, with quick delivery for which I paid extra. The wonderful girls in store did tell me that the gowns were being made in a differnt place than before and I did not have the same colour options so could not have the other maids in a darker shade. No big deal. I ordered the same colour as my maid of honour had. However only ONE dress arrived and when the girls called head office the second one had not even been started on. The attitude the girls in Debenhams in Glasgow got from manufacturing was that they would get round to it sometime. Listening to the conversation from the store side I got the impression that the girs were dealing with a 'go away and don't bother us' type of attitude. I had several calls at hesad office and eventually a date for my second dress was organised. NOT ideal as I was sending a big box of wedding items to the USA and this dress would not be ready in time to be included. Then I looked at the dress that had arrived and it was very different from the first one. Pinkish beading, not silver, and far less than on the first dress. The sides of the dress have none of the beading that is on the first. I was disappointed but put it down to the new manufacturer having a different way of making the dresses. I reasoned it would be ok because it was the maid of honours dress that would be different. However, when the next dress FINAlLY arrived, with days to spare before I had to take it out to the USA...hand carried in a new, large suitcase I had had to buy for this purpose, it was the same silver and heavier beading as the first one. I called him and he said he would look in to what to do. He had not got back to me before I left the USA and apparently he is the ONLY person in the company that deals with customer issues. I had to leave 'different' dress in the USA as it would have to be altered for my bridesmaid, with instructions not to do the alterations until I got back to my maids. Several weeks of un-returned calls, being on holiday, not being available, 'not having come in today' and numerous other excuses, with the odd time I got to spoke to him and he reassured me he was working on a solution, I was five days before leaving again for the wedding. At this point he said that there was nothing he could do now until after the wedding. I had to get a rush on the alteration in the USA and was left with a dress that stands out as different in my wedding pictures. His attitude on all of this was very blase and unconcerned. Now I have the dresses back in the UK and returned them to Berketex on 7th March. I called him today and was told he had been out for a couple of days over Easter. Fair enough. But he is going to look at them tomorrow. I asked if he will get the second dress back. The girls want to have these drresses for balls they are attending and Cathy, who had the less beaded/wrong bead colour gown, would love it to look the way she expected hers to. He says they will 'decide what they are going to do'. I have told him what I want. I have done from the start. I want the dress to have the beading I paid for and have the dress look as it should. Overall I will say that the girls in the Berketex stores are great but the after sales customer care is abysmal and having looked back through reviews back several years I am not the first person to feel that their customer service manager does not really care a jot.

Make Sure You Have Wedding Insurance

Bought my dress from berkatex in the London wedding fayre. Paid in full for the dress on the day as full payment was needed 4 weeks after ordering

Unfortunately the wedding was called off 4 months after ordering.

Berkatex would not cancel the order or part or full refund.

Am now left with a £1200 dress that I'm trying to sell.

Please make sure you get wedding insurance

Rude customer service at head office. No sympathy. Told me there's plenty of websites that take pre-owned dresses.

I had not even picked it up from the shop.

Future Brides Stay Away From Berketex!!!!!

FUTURE BRIDES- STAY AWAY FROM BERKETEX!!!!!!!!!!

I have had nothing but problems regarding my 4 bridesmaid dresses - after taking 6 months to arrive, they were made to incorrect measurements, and due to 'a design fault' needed to be revisited as some of my girls couldn't even pull them over their hips! (My bridesmaids are UK sizes 6, two 8s and a 10 so not big by any stretch of the imagination!) the seams were also wonky and didn't match up, had threads hanging out and the boning over the bust was also very misshapen.

We get the dresses re made and low and behold - they didn't fit again! They were made, yet again, to the wrong measurements- one being made 2 inches too small 'by accident'.

My wedding is in 3 weeks time and I have no bridesmaid dresses.

Berketex are also refusing to give me a refund on our deposits and have made up the fact that my bridesmaids have all changed sizes, which, they haven't.

Since this happened I've looked at reviews of Berketex and wish so much that I had done before hand .... PLEASE READ THEIR REVIEWS ON FACEBOOK PAGES AND REVIEW SITES!!!!! I am one of hundreds of brides who have been left without dresses just weeks before the wedding and without receiving any refund. I am utterly disgusted.

Bristol Store Is Terrible And Shocking

This store is terrible, no bridesmaids dresses that fitted my bridesmaids. Only sizes available were 8-12 mainly. The assistants were rude and unhelpful, considering you have to get undressed in front of them, which can be uncomfortable, they made you feel uncomfortable.

Never go to this shop.....

However, Highly recommend the bridesmaid shops in Swindon, lovely customer service and not pushy at all...

Rubbish Money Grabbing

Charged me 1500 for a dress before i collected it reduced it to 999.00 the bride tried it on with the reduced tag in insulting they made us pay the higher price as we paid a deposit last year and apparently that forms a contract so beware dont sign anything because they will not honour price. Rude customer service staff sullen also measurements 2 inch to big so more money to alter my advice dont shop here

Absolutely Shocking Service!

I ordered a bridesmaid dress from this salon at the beginning of March. I was assured that my dress will be ready before the wedding - 26th June 2014 (as apparently it never takes longer than 12 weeks to arrive). There made a mistake in the order and wrote the date in August instead and my dress has never arrived until mid July. Of course, they assured me at the beginning of June, that my dress will still be ready by the end of the month and then ignored my phone calls when it never arrived on time.

To cut the story short, I was arguing on the phone with them ever since and they refused to refund any of the money I have already paid which meant I had to come and pick up the dress and pay the rest of the full price.

As you can imagine, I do not need this dress any more, but I refused not to get a dress and loose the money in the end.

The head office customer service was absolutely terrible and they do not care what the customer has got to say! They just take the money and never deliver on time!

DO NOT BUY A DRESS FROM THIS SALON!

I am a bride 9 days away from wedding, dress ordered and paid for in febuary and i have no dress, get nothing from customer service, management, even been to head office. If you dont want your experiance to be runied use another company!!!!

I agree!! Berketex have tried the best to ruin my day! Charging me extra money a few days before my wedding and threatening me with not letting me have my dress if I don't pay it. They are devious merchants. I have no idea how they get away with it. They act like super budget retailers yet charge average prices. Seriously avoid them. There's so much choice, why risk it?! I wish I hadn't. Head office people are even ruder and more inept than the people in the store.

I booked an appointment to look for a dress in berketex bride . Upon arrival no one was free, we had to wait, no apology offered. We were told to look at dresses until someone was free. Finally an assistant came to help, she asked what sort of dress I was after, and I said I wanted one without a train, to which she abruptly replied there weren't any and it would be difficult to find a dress without a train. She then carried on showing me numerous dresses with very long trails and told me they would look nice and could be hooked up. I told her it wasn't what I wanted and she said they weren't allowed to alter the style of the dress. The assistant was rude and unhelpful . When asked how long until the wedding she was also abrupt about the fact it was 5 months away and there wasn't much time. I left the shop after not even trying on a dress , I wanted a nice experience and did not want to spend my money in shop where the staff were rude, pushy and were not really interested in listening to what I wanted. Luckily I had booked another appointment in a much nicer store with lovely staff, and I found a dress at half the price with out a train and ready in time for my wedding !!!

The Worst Experience Of My Life!

The most unhelpful, unfriendly, rude staff I have ever encountered. Awful customer service - actually no customer service. I loved the dress and am so glad I took it to a different store for alternations as Berketex have tried their hardest to ruin one of the most special parts of my wedding. If you ever plan on buying a wedding dress, please do not buy it from them. I would not want anyone to experience the day I did when seeing my dress for the first time. My veil was faulty, the shop said they would refund me the price of the veil, when I called to confirm this they lied and said it was not the case (I have photos to prove it). Just terrible.

Appalling

I had a terrible experience.

- High pressure sales telling me if I didn't order that day I wouldn't get a dress in time for my wedding 7 months away.

- Claimed there was a 2 day sale on that ended that day yet a month later the sale was miraculously still on.

- Head office impossible to get hold of - no phone numbers listed online.

- I cancelled my order days after placing it and lost my entire deposit. The dress had not been made.

- When I did finally get through, people were unresponsive, promises to return calls to me were broken, and complaint letters simply ignored. I even wrote to the CEO who didn't have the courtesy to respond.

- Having since seen what's available elsewhere I think the dresses are not reasonably priced by comparison.

I would never shop here again.

I would totally agree, I ordered my dress my fitting date was cancelled by the store went two weeks later and my dress was plucked and had threads all over the ties. this is two weeks before my wedding I have not dress they didnt say sorry. I are completley un ressponsove to my plight , morole of this story do not buy a dress from them now 9 days before my wedding with no dress and no one returning my calls and still no I am sorry
