NY Steakhouse Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Garden City

Simply perfect. Great service, fantastic food worth every penny. Great for kids and adults. The place you go to after a long day of work with your family to decompress and enjoy life and everyone of it's moments. I loved the food and the service, and although it's not "cheap", it's the complete opposite of a waste of money.

Above and beyond my expectations for my wifes 50th birthday. Ive got to say they went out the way to make our experience top notch. I was absolutely impressed with the service level.

Food and serivice was great at NY Steakhouse. went for valentine's day, it was very organized and they only took people w/ a reservation that night. we did not wait for a table, we sat right away. reasonable prices for a nice steakhouse. wait staff was on top of everything. we were not rushed at all. after dinner we received a coupon for our next visit for a free dessert or appetizer.

Best steakhouse i have ever been to. we had stuffed mushrooms to start, which were amazing. i had sparkling wine and my fiance had bluemoon beer. i had the stuffed chicken and he had a porterhouse. the sides are large enough to share. we had asparagus w/ hol sauce and mashed potatoes. dinner was great. for dessert we shared warm apple tart w/ vanilla ice cream. the desserts are very large, so i suggest you share. we also both had after dinner coffee drinks. everything was perfect!!!! Everything is timed well, so you dont feel rushed or too stuffed. Only bad point is its located inside the citi bank building which we were not aware of so we had a hard time finding it and had to call. the website should say its located inside the building.

Major issues: Ruth's Chris Steakhouse provided sloppy and very slow service before, during, and after all parts of the meal. First appetizer came out right away, then salad came out 25 minutes later. Clearly they forgot about us for a while. Salad was awful. Also, they don't seem to know how to prepare a filet which they had over an hour to prepare. Ordered two of them, Medium. One was quite rare, other was medium-well. Not knowing how to make steak at a steakhouse is a big problem! And for over $30! We were never presented with dessert menus or asked if we wanted coffee. Not once in 2 hours did our waiter ask if we needed anything or even make eye contact. Finally I located the manager and asked for a check so we could finally put the miserable experience to an end. The manager had the decency to offer a gift certificate for our next visit. I informed him I would never be returning after this experience and that it should be applied to today's bill, which he promptly did.
