A Very Enjoyable Holiday

I would recommend this holiday village....the caravan we were allocated although one of the older ones was very clean, had everything we needed & was very pleasant to holiday in...the entertainment that was provided was very good, the children well provided for (a holiday club in the morning, 10 - 11am which was adequate...at night there was childrens entertainment 7pm - 8.15pm....although there was only 1 person doing the entertainment he did an excellent job both for the children & later for the adults as well...he was very funny (well done)...all the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant & helpful...it was a good holiday base to travel around Cornwall from (which we did every day) from our caravan window we could see Talland Bay (an added bonus)...the only minus point I can think of about this holiday park is that it is so isolated (the nearest supermarket is around 9 miles away) so you definitely need a car to travel around (not the fault of the holiday park though)...its smallness could be one of its strengths....so the staff got to know us & quickly got to know the children....overall a very enjoyable holiday..

Very Very Good

I have just read all these negative comments. I suggest that the people who book the chalets now book a top range caravan. If you don't like dog hairs and smells why book something that has dogs in them!! Me and my family have been to Seaview twice now and found it excellent. Caravan with central heating (no damp in these) and all mod cons is just like home from home. We will be returning later on this year.

Great Time In Cornwall

I read quite a few reviews about this holiday village after I had already made a booking and was expecting the worst! What a surprise - it was great! Great last minute price, fab sea view and very comfortable king size bed. I must admit the weather has been perfect this week, which was an absolute bonus. We didn't use any of the facilities, because that isn't our thing, but the park was perfect and not too big. The only thing we would have liked would have been a shower curtain in the bathroom, but we improvised and put newspaper on the floor to avoid flooding the bathroom when using the shower! Will definitely go again!

Damp,smelly,woodlice Lazy Cleaners

Not got enough space on this for what I want to say but will let you know the basics. The caravan was stinking of fags, wet dogs and was covered in dampness in the bathroom. At night time the place was crawling with woodlice. After complaining to hoseasons when we came home as could not get a reception on holiday they have replied with a statement that is full of lies. I am very angry as they said woodlice are not a health hazard and do not spread diseases??? Also that they come out when the weather id bad it was scotching when we were there So I guess they were there because the van was so damp inside. I asked for compensation from hoseasons but as I never phoned during the holiday then they cannot do anything for me. They are also liars and seem to have a blind fold on as there is a load of bad reviews. My advice is don't stay here if you want a sleep without "not a health hazard woodlice" total joke of a company both sea view and hoseasons

Wont Be Returning

on arriving at the park our first impressions were how small it was but it looked quite nice. We were dissapointed with our caravan as it smelt really bad and was alive with fleas. we reported it to the lady at reception who said she would send somebody from housekeeping the next morning, we waited in all morning and nobody came so we ended up going to liskeard to buy flea spray. The shop and bar close in the day which seems silly for the time of year. The pool was probably the best thing about the park. The cooker ignition never worked so we were given some matches to light it which i found dangerous. The dog walking facilities were extremely poor. we will definately not be returning to seaview.

Wouldn't Go Again.

Sea View, Polperro. Soveriegn Bungalow.

We arrived on site and were initially impressed by our surroundings and then we got into our bungalow and were immediately hit with a damp smell. There was damp in the master bedroom, paint was peeling, bed linen didn't feel fresh and clean and the bathroom was disgusting! It looked like it hadn't had a decent clean in months as there was dust on the skirting and spiders and cobwebs. The bath leaked and the shower attachment didn't work either. We had to clean both the kitchen and bathroom floors as they were sticky and some of the crockery had bits of dried food glued onto them so had to be washed before use. The extractor fans in both the kitchen and bathroom sporadically worked and turned themselves on and off by themselves. I had to wash all of our clothes (even ones that we didn't wear) when we got home as they smelt damp. The decor is very dated and disappointing. Luckily we went out all day everyday so were not stuck there. The pool and games facilities were adequate and the food was nice and pleasant enough even though they should offer more healthy options especially for the children.

Bungalow Was Clean And Inventory Was Good, Everyth

Bungalow was clean and inventory was good, everything you need for a self catering holiday. Site was clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and always helpful. Only one problem - if you need anything from site shop between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3p.m. you're out of luck - shop closes every day during these hours - EVEN ON A SATURDAY when you would expect to at least be able to get a pint of milk for a cuppa!!!!

Booked A Short Break 4 Nights From Tues 20th Octob

Booked a short break 4 nights from Tues 20th October. Unfortunately, one of the friends I was due to meet passed away a week before the break. I contacted Seaview via Hoseasons who allowed an extra night (Mon) for the funeral at no extra cost. Caravan was basic and clean. Comfy bed. All we wanted. Was a great base for walks and visiting my friends in Looe. The pool was lovely and warm, excellent for my spinal problems. Only downside, no WiFi and poor mobile signal. I needed to find a phone number and the site payphone bars 118 etc numbers. Friends had a chalet and it seemed adequate. We had the van based on price, well cheap and suited us fine. Would suggest that if you have the basic Crown caravan, you take small heaters for the bedrooms if staying during the cold months. Only a single gas heater in the main living area, but was adequate. Would have no problem stopping again and probably will be again soon.

The Site Is Tidy, Clean And Friendly. Great Kocati

The site is tidy, clean and friendly. Great kocation, you are on the coastal path in five minutes. Updated clubhouse and bar area is an improvement. The gripes seem to be about the chalets which are dated despite having face lifts. The caravans we have stayed in are always clean well equipped and reasonably comfortable.But...we do choose a better class one to make sure of that, and that it has been dog free, We didnt see dogs in the club and would query this as it is stated not allowed. In my ten years of seaview stays have never seen dogs in the club

Just Returned From A Week Stay At Seaview, Looe(17

Just returned from a week stay at Seaview, Looe(17th October 2009) in one of the 'bungallows'.

Our first impression was of the multitude of flies that covered the windows in every room. The bungallow was cold and damp and smelt 'musky'. We didn't like to complain but wish we had as things only got worse as the week carried on.

Heating was poor with just one 2 bar heater which never dried out the constant damp. On investigation in the bedrooms mould was apparent on all the exterior walls - which are very thin and just concrete. No wonder it was so cold and damp.

We all developed colds and a cough which didn't get better until we left the dirty / musky atmosphere of the bungallow.

The staff however are friendly and the clubhouse is very good with good entertainment and very reasonably priced food.

It is such a shame they don't provide accomodation as it is an ideal location to explore the surrounding area's. My wife and I will not be visiting this camp again.
