We Have Had Increasingly Good Quality Hotels In Tu

We have had increasingly good quality hotels in Turkey and Greece the last three years but found the Oceanis Hotel this year disappointing. The Eastern Mediterranean hotel rating system is always a bit of a lottery but the Oceanis really in my opinion is stretching the limits of 4* and they need to up their game. For a family holiday the East coast would have been a better choice with better access to sandy beaches and less blustery weather.

A Group Of Nine Of Us (mixed Ages) Stayed At The O

A group of nine of us (mixed ages) stayed at the Oceanis Hotel in Ixia for two weeks. On arrival the hotel was as expected from images we had viewed.

The hotel has undergone refurbishment and they are gradually upgrading the rooms, floor by floor. Our room had not been upgraded and was a bit basic ( but for all you are in the room?) Maid service was daily and the room was kept immaculate as were all public areas.

The food in the hotel we all found to be first class, the choice was excellent - everything from Greek dishes (gyros, souvlaki, mousakka) to fresh fish, curries, the chefs were fantasic in ensuring the dishes were varied. Breakfast and lunch were also both first class and piping hot.

There is a choice of two bars and we had no queuing ( and the hotel was full) Beer is on tap and you can help yourself.

Entertainment was okay, but tell me any hotel where you could say that it was fantasic?

We made our own entertainment and visited many of the local bars which are plentiful and staff really friendly - Esp IDEAL Cafe (beside the Bellair Hotel) and the

Blue Palm (near the Rhodesland shopping centre)

I would definitely return to this hotel. It is great value for money and at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Perfect base to explore Rhodes.

I Visited The Oceanis Hotel For Two Weeks From Jun

I visited the Oceanis Hotel for two weeks from June 22 to July 6 2005. First impressions of the hotel were amazing, marble evrywhere and greeted by the staff immediately. Ignore all the pictures on the web of the hotel because it has since been refurbished and looks totally different! There is a whole new area to the building. There should be a holiday brochure out soon with up to date photos as they were taking the photos for a brochure during my stay. There are two pools, one in the front which has a little island in the middle and a waterfall and another for water sports out the back, both outdoors. The entertainment is done by a group called Animations. This is very good during the day and night with games for the the older and younger generation. The rooms all have air conditioning in the hotel and it is just about enough to keep your room at a nice temperature. If you want my advice, get a room at the front of the hotel, they cost extra but believe me it is worth it! With Turkey just a few miles accross the sea, watching sunset is really something amazing! The hotel is a 4 star but I will say it is a very high 4 star hotel! In fact it is the only 4 star hotel in the string of hotels on the Ixia cost, they are all 5 star! To give an idea of what the area is like and exactly how good the views are, it is good enough to be situated next door to the world famous Hilton Hotel. I will enclose a picture of the view from our balcony. Rhodes town is also just a few minutes down the road (6 Euros in a taxi). Another good point is the food in the hotel, there is such a wide variety to choose from and it is all so nice! (I put on weight lol). Anyway I hope my review has helped you and I really would recommend the hotel, nobody I knew at the hotel said anything bad about it. Don't forget to say hello if you do visit this summer (2005).
