I Have Two Motherboard Pcchips M848 Alu V2.1, One
I have two motherboard PCCHIPS M848 ALU V2.1, one for about 5 yaers and the other for about 1 month, both of them works perfecly, it the best motherboard for that price i never seen for the socket A. It run pretty well support DDR 400 Mhz, each run with a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @ 2.0 Ghz and with a noname 512 Mb stick DDR PC-3200, I never had a problem with them and I know now that PCHIPS isn't made poor product, If you can found one for a second computer or watherver, I think you will be happy with that. And righ now those motherboard isn't expensive, i paid my secon only 10$.
PS : Sorry for my bad English, I'm from France

I Ordered This Pc Chips M848alu Motherboard Online
I ordered this PC Chips M848ALU motherboard online for a Christmas present. Poor planning on my part because I expected no problems. Right from the start it would not see any keyboard, PS2 or USB. It was too late to return for a replacement for Christmas so I bought a different board locally. I then sent it back for a replacement and when the second one came it did recognize a USB keyboard but not the PS2. It was up and running for about 45 minutes and it fried my new Kingston memory. Officemax acccepted the memory back thankfully. Perhaps it was the Sempron CPU that it didn't like. I had not flashed the BIOS yet if it had not fried my memory I would have. I'm still waiting on my vendor to see what they will do. I ask for a different make of board.

This Board Is A Steal At The Price. It Will Take U
This board is a steal at the price. It will take up to Athlon XP 3200 with 400Mhz memory (check the PC Chips site for restrictions on 400Mhz memory). Currently running Athlon 2500, Win XP Pro, 2 x 120GB HD's with 512MB 333MHz DDR - no problems. Installation required a case plug to be cut in half to accommodate the board pin-out, but nothing unusual in that.
