After A Number Of Years With This Company Paying £
After a number of years with this company paying £160 annually for my home insurance which is renewed automatically, I found that this year they quietly hiked it to £478 with no notification of the increase. Canceling a policy costs you their highly expensive "administration" fee. Horrible customer service.

Never Use
If I could give no stars I would. I can't even put into words how terrible this company is. Never insure with them and don't trust them.
Cheap is not always the best pay more and insure with someone that knows what they are doing.
Cheep price means a cheap policy. Pay more and be covered.

Absolute Fraudsters
Cancelled Home insurance as I was purchasing from a new company. Following this got contacted by debt collectors on their behalf for 'cancellation fee' though home insurance was by this time being provided by another company. Avoid!

Purchase At Your Peril
I had house insurance with Esure and had the audacity to move house and change bank. I notified them there was additional cost but I was prepared to accept that.
I then began receiving correspondence to say my direct debit had been cancelled, thus I contacted them to clarify and set up another direct debit. This happened on three occasions before I became tired and cancelled the policy apparently the direct debit debacle was my fault despite having no issues with any other company.
I then was charged £20 for an address change and £27 for cancellation. I asked for a breakdown of costs to finalise my account. I then received differing amounts and sometime received two letters dated the same day with conflicting information.
Prior to me being able to settle the amount the matter was referred to a debt recovery agency who made contact with me some three weeks after the bill.
I can only describe the way in which I have be treat by these incompetents as disgraceful, fortunately I did not have to make a claim as god only knows how that would have gone.
Customer service is appalling, buyer beware!

Bad Home Insurance Provider!!
I have been with Esure for 2 years and payed by direct debit, in September/2012 we had a terrible weather with a lot of rain, we had a leak non stop from the roof going down onto the light bulb to my bed, I had a wet bed, damage to my light fittings and ceiling, so I phone esure and claim some help, they send a company Imperials Consultants and reported that they will not do the service and the rain was not the cause of it!! Only a few tiles broken no more, in others words they did not want to know. I phoned them a few times but no help, so I cancelled my police and I will never use them again or recommended them to anyone. Before my claim they were happy to get my money every month but if you need them, forget!!

Care - Read Small Print - Items Regarded As Part Of A Set
We had a lovely fully tiled wet room in which all floor tiles matched and all wall tiles matched. We had an escape of water and the damaged areas had to be stripped out, dried and the walls & floor replaced and re-tiled. I would estimate about 35-40% of the overall tiled surface area had to be remmoved.
It was a huge project to replace and cost us around 11k.
although they are the permanent wall and floor covering of the room, Esure regard tiles as being part of a set in the same way as if you tried to claim for a whole 3 piece suite if one chair were damaged. So although we could no longer get the same tiles they only paid for replacement of the damaged tiles. We had to pay the rest ourselves. We got back less than half of the cost. An expensive lesson learned and I will always in future read the small print about this and ask questions if it is not clear what it actually includes.
Esure's service during the claim was appalling. I would never ever use them again to insure anything
