Gatwick Express

Absolutely awful website. I was booking an "anytime return" ticket for my visit abroad for two weeks. The order summary came up saying return on the same day as I was leaving. There was no explanation for why. Even when I pressed continue it still said the same! I have tried calling their number and all I get is "all lines are busy call back later" no ring back, no voicemail. I have now given up and am booking a coach. What incompetence!just for the sake of a small explanation!

I had a hellish journey down to Gatwick last Sunday - nearly missed my flight since due to engineering works (blah blah blah) we took 1 hour and 15 minutes to the journey they advertise as "30 minutes" - I really think for the huge price ticket that we can expect better. From now on, I am using Southern or taking the bus if it's a Sunday!

If you book this in advance on-line it's cheaper than at the station. It is very reliable and you can take the first train when you get to London Victoria, can't understand what people are complaining about here - it only takes 30 mins - took me longer to reach Victoria on the bus!!

my nightmare started at the ticket hall to collect my tickets bought online.....i left my credit card I used to purchase it at home as I have half s dozen cards and don't want.to bring them all. it is NOT clear at all that to collect your tickets you HAVE to show your card as id. even my reciept and passport they would NOT give me.my ticket.

it is a complete joke!! the ticket man at victoria was very.unhelpful. absolute disgrace. I had no code but to buy another ticket at a rip off price. Then there were problems in the line and we had no idea when the next train was coming. so much for keeping your customers informed....they have FLIGHTS to yake, a bunch of jokers!!! when it finally arrived half an hour later, it had to made a FEW detours....bloody joke!!!

it was so slow I could have ran.faster than the train. three.hours later I almost missed my flight. GATWICK

EXPRESS get your pathetic act together. this is a total joke from start.to finish.

Gatwick Express is an embarrassment. I've used it a couple of times now and will not be doing so again because of its poor service and old, dirty, cranky trains. It's a fairly regular running service departing about every 10 minutes on average and is quite quick, taking about 1/2 an hour, which is a good job because I wouldn't want to be on it a second longer than a have to! The other direction is also served every 10 minutes or so on average and takes the same amount of time. The service goes to Victoria station which is a brilliant location in London for Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the London Eye, but to get to almost anywhere else via the London Underground lines from there is a nightmare. The Gatwick Express also seems to be late regually and has trains not following a simple timetable, going at random times throughout the hour and taking completely different duration times, making the Gatwick Express unreliable. Although a little quicker than most transport from Gatwick to London, it's an awful service and would never want to use it again, as it's the last thing you feel like doing when you've just been on a plane for however many hours!
