I Was Looking To Move Away From The Cheap Spinlock
I was looking to move away from the cheap spinlock dumbells you get at all general sports stores (the spinlocks would loosen at inopportune moments).
Found these through some recommendations on some forums. There's even a review of them on youtube.
Found the cheapest via shopphysical.co.uk. Free delivery direct from manufacturer (they were cheaper than the manufacturer's website).
Well packaged. Easy to understand simple instructions. 10 year guarantee on the welding and the mechanics.
So far, it's taken the various swinging actions (dumbell snatches, dumbell laterals) and felt secure throughout.
Aesthetically, not the best as it's squared plates. They seem expensive but compared to what I've read about the other variable dumbells, this is a more compact unit and can take more rough handling.
It also has the options to expand from 50lbs to 90lbs, and even up to 130lbs. At 50lbs, they feel okay but good to know that if I start feeling stronger, I can but the extra weight enhancement. Unlike other brands which aren't expandable.
So far, very good. Almost very good value for money...
