I Have Had A Few Different Dell Laptops And Every

i have had a few different dell laptops and every single one was the worst laptops i have had. they are very unreliable and break constantly. worst of all when you ring up to get help with a problem, the customer support is shocking, it is the worst customer support of all the big companies. the way in which the people spoke to me was discusting. my warranty was nearly over and i needed my laptop fixed, the customer support team kept on putting me off. one woman hung up on me. they told me that they would ring me back and never did. i had to ring them. i finally got my laptop sent away to be fixed and when i got it back, i had it two days and it broke AGAIN!! i seriously suggest never buying a Dell product. i never will again.

Yes I Know The 8000 Series Is Old Now, And So Why

Yes I know the 8000 series is old now, and so why am I writing a review?

My laptop the model in question, is now nearly 8 years old, that's ancient for this type of technology, but it's still here and used now around the home here for portable web browsing.

I am very much a techno freak, and my home reflects that, so you may be wondering why I still have and use an 8 year old laptop, it's because it still works, it's amazing actually that it still to this day stands up to modern laptops in respect to quality and reliability.

OK when bought it cost me nearly £3000, but that was because I bought it with all whistles and bells at the time, graphics card, memory, accessories, to be frank it was at the time nearly the most expensive Laptop + upgrades one could buy at the time. The (DELL) extended European warranty for 3 years was around £150. Yes I had a few problems, and this is why even today when I get asked by friends respecting advice about buying hardware, especially to those who know little about PC's etc, I advise them to buy a DELL, because the customer service is second to none, period. My laptop broke down as they do, a courier was here the next day to collect it, within 48 hours it is delivered back repaired, as simple as that.

Even out of warranty you still get via their website hardware driver updates, support via telephone, and the cost of a few repairs were very reasonable, ie my hard drive needed replacing about 4 years after I bought it, they even telephoned me back to see if I had installed in okay , (two screws , two minute job).

If you're new to Pc's and not sure what to buy then buy a DELL, it's cool hardware, customer service as stated second to none.

When you're more confident about hardware etc, as I am now, then like me here, my desktop I had made to my personal specifications, totally custom built. If you're not sure then DELL is a very cool decision, but do take advantage of their own warranty as it's both remarkable value for money, and you will be very happy that you bought a DELL, as you get a lot of piece of mind, not having to worry about it going wrong.

Absolutely agree. I'm on my fourth PC, this one is a Dell and I can't see it being replaced for a few years yet. As good today as it was when I unpacked it four and half years ago. Robust, reliable and shows no signs of age.

Friend of mine bought a PC at PC World a few weeks back .. different story ... he should have listened to me. Those of us who purchased Dell years ago are still using them with complete confidence. Surely that says something for Dell ..!

Long may they reign.
