This Terrific Traditional 7 Bed Room Hotel Be Must

This terrific traditional 7 bed room hotel be must the most north-westerly on mainland GB, only about 15 miles from Cape Wrath, itself claiming to be the most remote place on mainland GB. We spent a day taking the tiny ferry boat across the Kyle of Durness and the bumpy minibus ride out to the Lighthouse at Cape Wrath at the north west corner of mainland GB. (Be warned: there are no toilets on the headland.)

We were fortunate to have north facing windows in the hotel from which we could see Sango Bay with the north east Atlantic beyond.

It's hard to fault this totally civilised and smoothly run establishment. The menu offered a great choice of local fresh produce, including freshly caught fish, Langoustines and shell fish as well local lamb and steak.. After dinner, we had malt Scotch and coffee in front of a log fire (in August!) in the lounge and chatted with other guests. Breakfast was equally good, especially the fresh fruit and smoked fish.
