Manchester, Portland Thistle

Cramped and tired hotel in Manchester. Pool small and "Gym" abit of a joke. Also expensive.

Rooms are tiny as are beds which my feet stuck out of. Even the door and enterance to the room was so narrow I had to turn to the side. If you fancy a half lenght bath then this is the place for you. Also literally no sound insulation which they must be aware of as ear plugs provided for free ha.

Very annoying telly/freeview set up.

Good central location for shopping through. Not sure how it got 4 star rating.

Excellent hotel, cost a little more than most but as they say, you get what you pay for.

The meals are good and when I ordered a meal that wasn't on the menu they went out of their way to do it.

The room was of a good size with a city view, nightgowns and a bottle of wine were waiting on the bed, fresh towels were hanging up, instead of hard ones wrapped in plastic.

The bed itself was comfortable, with soft cotton sheets for a change.

Reception was a breeze with genuine smiling faces.

I would definitely stay at the Portland Thistle again.
