Northumberland, Slaley Hall (De Vere)

Visited the hotel on 15 Feb 2013 for our 27th wedding anniversary. Deal was £99 Dinner, bed & breakfast. Friendly and smiling welcome. The hotel has had some touch ups since our last visit 2 years ago. The room, 222, was fantatstic size. All in good working order. The TV was fine, all channels were tuned in, some just had to be found later up the programme list, ie ITV on 12 instead of the non functioning 3. Immaculately clean, peace and quiet was lovely, overlooking the golf course/car park. Food was beautiful and by having the 6 o'clock meal time were given a complimentary bottle of wine with the meal! Retired to room for bottle of champagne and then to the bar. Lovely atmosphere and nice background music. Busy but no problem getting a sofa to ourselves. All the alcoves to the bar, including whisky snug were being utilised, including the lit fires. The ambience was great. Paid a fiver to have breakfast in bed, never done this before, other than the toast being like rock the food and service was exceptional. If you are in the area or can get a deal do not hesitate to book. 10 out of 10.
