found grafton in newry very unhelpful don't want to know you sent application forms in for jobs and they never passed them on to employers every time you go into them they tell you that there's no jobs that suit even after I seen then on there web site pure joke

I cannot describe the frustration at certain members of the staff. I replied to an ad, and was given a blunt email asking me to arrive at Grafton at 10am the next day. I sent three emails asking WHICH office, the third was answered. I arrived, whereupon they asked for a reel of information that I hadn't been asked to supply or bring with me.

I was given a day to start, with the promise of further info after I supplied the information I hadn't been asked to bring and that was the last I heard. Yes, just the DAY. No time, no place of contact. I asked in an email exact time. Nothing. I forwarded my ID and NI number and asked in this email. Nothing. I forwarded both again Nothing. The night before the DAY I was given, I emailed again. Nothing.

My brother who had also applied, emailed. Nothing. He asked again, and got a reply. With a few hours to spare.

I turned up anyway. Absolutely unbelievable. It is incomprehensible the lack of professionalism or even competence displayed. Of all the people who enter their doors looking for work, it is not physically possible that this person was actually seen or heard before they were employed in this role. I also believe, from the reaction of the receptionist, that this is not the only case where she has acted in such an incompetent manner and that they would have an idea who this is.

Please, please, drop this member of staff like a hot potato, and job seekers, please be prepared to be extremely patient.

I registered with this agency as a result of a job I saw Online. I had three phone calls from a consultant about three different jobs and I said I would be interested. I have heard nothing from the consultant since. I called several times and was told the consultant was not there. I have emailed and there has been no response.

I would not recommend this agency.

Grafton recruitment are great at getting people jobs

as a uni student I was employed 2 days after finishing uni for the summer, full time work june - sept

this unfortunately is where the good service grinds to a bitter hault with grafton recruitment

everything after getting you the job seems to matter so little to them that your frustration on the phone caused by being fobbed off from one department grows and grows for the countless hours you spend trying to get them to do simple tasks

firstly I was on the wrong tax code, a simple mistake (even though i told them i was a student before i started working)

As a student only working in summer months, i should NOT have been taxed.

this took 3 weeks to sort out with grafton, in the mean time I called the inland revenue for a tax refund only to find that they had no record of me even working for them. so I was unable to claim it

Next they miscalculated National insurance, graftons wages were paid to me fortnightly by an independant firm Legal E.

Legal E seemed to have the impression that I was earning my fortnightly wage every week, and thus were charging me far too much national insurance.

grafton were unable to sort this issue, so they started paying me and my colleagues directly and not through legal E

When grafton started paying me directly I was, Once again, put on the wrong tax code and was taxed for the next 4 weeks, even though i had filled out all the relevant forms and had told them about this over a month prior to the change over.

I am now owed over £250 in wrongfully deducted tax and overcharged national insurance

the inland revenue have no record of me working so I cant claim it back yet, grafton have no idea who i need to talk to to sort this out and im still getting taxed.

you'd think the fact that my working earns them so much money would be enough incentive for them to get off their asses and do their job passed the point of just getting me employed. Once you start earning them money they really couldnt care less about you. I will never use grafton recruitment again and I wouldnt recommend them to a friend.

I registered with Grafton recruitment just over two years ago and used the branch in Bangor. The staff member with whom I dealt was pleasant, helpful and optimistic about placing me in employment. I was willing to accept any type of work full-time or part-time and could therefore not have been more flexible. A month later I was in permanent part-time employment which I had found through the Job Centre and was in fact yards away from the Grafton agency. I settled into my new job for a month and then called into Grafton from whom in the two month I had heard ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The reason offered was that they had lost my CV which I duly produced again and waited. TWO YEARS AND COUNTING.
