Worst Food Served For A Higher Price
I bought food for my gfs birthday thought something special for the day.i was shocked by seeing the food each container of curries was half full of oil.vegetable curry they give free with seems toxic it went straight to bin, even the other curries were full of oil.Thers is no taste of any kind i was so surprised what sort of cooking they do as a restaurant. Many restaurants in the area are same and most of them are indian restaurants by name only, many of them are run by other nationalities.i regret to order food from this restaurant there by spoil the day.i strongly will not recoment this place to any one.

We Went For A Buffet Lunch. It Was The Best Indian
We went for a buffet lunch. It was the best Indian buffet we've tried in the area - so good that the only problem was stopping ourselves from eating too much. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked. Service was friendly, efficient and welcoming - we're not usually introduced to the staff by name. The wine list is better than average. With reasonable prices, what more could you want?

Just Had A Takeaway & Very Disappointed, Curries H
Just had a takeaway & very disappointed, curries had no spice and were far too salty, saag panneer far too sweet, tarka dal was completely liquid and tasteless. Not good!

We do takeaway and eat in. Lovely service. Particularly like the buffet which has different from the average. My mother in law is a VERY fussy eater and loves the korma which seems to have freshly grated coconut in the sauce.
Having had real problems with delivery from other takeaways these guys were great. Having again today

Review Of Bombay Blues, Southend-on-sea - I Can Ha
Review of Bombay Blues, Southend-on-Sea - I can hardly believe that I visited the same restaurant as the other reviewers! We were the only diners there on a Friday night (which speaks volumes in itself I feel). The waiter appeared to spend most of his time on his 'phone and even continued his conversations as he cleared our plates and served us! Whilst our starters were passable, I thought the main meal was very poor quality, my chicken tikka was soft and spongy and seemed like reconstituted meat. My partner (who is a veteran of indian cuisine) found his Madras far too hot, - much more like a vindaloo and the sauce was unpleasantly tangy and harsh tasting. His meat also appeared to be reconstituted. I thought the rice also tasted stale and the pieces of banana and nuts in mine were squidgy and downright nasty. Never again.

I Have Been To Bombay Blues A Couple Of Times Now,
I have been to Bombay Blues a couple of times now, mainly for birthdays, and I would recommend the place to anyone. The food was great, but it was the staff and the atmosphere that made it a great place to be. We spent about 4 hours there!

Excellent, And Will Be Making It A Regular Haunt.
Excellent, and will be making it a regular haunt.
The restaurant was clean and devoid of tacky decor, which was a refreshing change. The food was excellent, and not greasy, as can often be the case with Indian restaurants. The naan bread was really light and tasty, and you could tell it had been freshly made - would highly recommend. We particularly liked the fact that the Bombay Blues restaurant on Southend-on-Sea was small and intimate.

I Must Say, I Have To Agree With The Other Review.
I must say, I have to agree with the other review. This was always as good a restaurant as the Purbani, but it seems to have moved to a different level as Bombay Blues. It is simply the best Indian food that I have eaten in a number of years. Great value for money, and the service is second to none. I would certainly recommend a visit, and I have done so to most of my friends.

Being From The West Midlands, I've Found Indian Fo
Being from the West Midlands, I've found Indian food a bit variable down here. The Bombay Blues Restaurant recently opened on the site of the old Purbani, which was quite good, however, Bombay Blues is excellent! Probably the best Indian I've ever had as an overall experience.
Timing was immaculate and the waiters were polite and welcoming. Food was superb. Their take on a Passandsa is different to what I've had before but is simply to die for. Wow!
Prices are very good at the moment, although I appreciate the restaurant has only recently opened and so they are trying to encourage customers. We paid £9.99 each for starter, main, rice and coffee.
