I Tried The Tom Tom But Because It Stopped Working
I tried the Tom Tom but because it stopped working on me after 2 months, I returned it and thought I would try the Navman iCN750. I returned the Navman and went back to Tom Tom after just 2 weeks. The Navman is good when it comes to navigating but there is no "find alternative route" feature, you can only detour by a certain amount of mileage ie 1,2,5 miles etc.
It shows very bad glare and your finger print shows on it too which can be very annoying. It does not come with any preinstalled POI speed cameras (which the Tom Tom does). After downloading the POI, they were way too small on the screen and it didn't show what speed limit the cameras were so wasn't very helpful.
The camera is absolutely useless as it is just to add something different on it, I found no use for it.
The battery life is only 2 hours which is not long enough. When I put it on, it told me there were maps missing which I thought was ridiculous.
Though it has a large memory, you can only put 25 POI's in it which is pointless and you probably need to add more than that, especially if you travel around Europe a lot. What's worst is that once you input a data into the memory, you cannot erase it all, which is annoying too.
You cannot just put into your car and go, you really need to read the manual, so not very user friendly.
I tried to find a Burger King Restaurant and rather than showing me the closest one, it listed the cities I could find Burger King in alphabetically, which is useless if you are not sure which town you are in, (Tom Tom located the nearest to me).
You can only have it on one information at any one time, so for example if you wanted to see your ETA, TTD, current Time etc, you would have to keep tapping the info bar while the Tom Tom shows it all at the same time.
I think that having used the Tom Tom and seeing the user friendliness of it then trying Navman, I found that I kept thinking "this is quicker using Tom Tom".
I think Navman really needs to improve their product to be much better and more user friendly.
