Olay Total Effects 7x day Moisturser

When I used a small amount of Olay Total Effects7 moisturiser on my face it made my face yellow and itchy. On the side of the box it states that by contacting them they have a money back guarantee. I sent an email explaining what had happened and requesting a refund.

Below are the subsequence correspondence I have so far sent and received.

There is no need for you to return the product. If you would like to contact us on 0800xxx we would be more than happy to do an electronic transfer to your bank account to refund the money.

Unfortunately we are unable to send cheques or postal orders.

For a bank transfer we would only need your sort code and 8 digit account number but I do understand that if you don’t want to give this out. The other way I could reimburse you is in the form of a voucher through the post if this would be better?

If you listen to your recorded message on the 0800 number sent it actually states that – and I quote ‘ If you are not completely satisfied we will send you a cheque refunding’...............................etc

I am not prepared to accept a voucher or to give out my bank details. Therefore I request that you honour your guarantee and refund the purchase price as advertised.

I telephoned P&G today and – surprise, surprise no  person I dealt with available! Why all this hassle? Why can’t P&G refund the money as a cheque as promised on their recorded message answering machine?

So much for their money back guarantee.

Very unhelpful company.
