Like the title suggests, I cannot fault the evening in terms of quality of food and the attentive service. Here are the pointers in where the manager of the restaurant may wish to consider.
1 - Portion size. We ordered starters and mains, enough for 3 we thought. He then recommended we try this, and that and also have some poppadoms to begin with. - Well, you couldn't get all of the food on the table. When the main course came along, no one had any room to eat.
2 - Wine - Nice bottle of red wine. Recommended by the manager, just so happened to be the most expensive bottle on the wine list. The manager was very attentive, ensuring the glass was always topped up. When it was empty, without even asking, he opened another one - Which of course doubled the wine cost.
Overall, the meal for 3 people came to £140. I felt robbed and cheated, but as I was with 2 clients, I said nothing. It doesn't really mean that much to me, apart from that I won't be going back again. I think that its a shame, a restaurant which serves such good food and has such good service is let down by the owner wanting to just line his pockets.
In my opinion, this level of service and quality of food should speak for itself and a profitable restaurant would be a by-product of this.
