Lovely Dresses But Alterations Weren't Great

I got my wedding dress Divine Bridal as well as my sisters bridesmaid dress. I had to explain a number of times to the seamstress what alterations I wanted and how I wanted to wear the dress as they kept trying to do it different ways. I was told after buying my dress from here that a friend also had a dress and the seamstress got the buttons wrong to hold up the train so I double checked when I picked my dress up. On what should have been my last fitting I found that the boning from the bodice was poking through and cutting in (so much I couldn't put my arm down, it wasn't like it before) so asked them to fix it for me as I couldn't wear it if not and they said they would sort it. When I wore the dress on the day it wasn't fixed and I ended up having to wear two blister plasters (As they were less unsightly that normal plasters) as it was so sharp I couldn't put my arm down.

With my sisters dress it all seemed fine but by the evening the straps had broken (mother in law was on hand with safety pins though luckily)

Amazing!

I recently had a terrible experience with Confetti and Lace Lakeside which left me with no wedding dress and 16 weeks until the wedding.

I explained my situation to the assistant and they said they would do whatever they can to help. They had a lovely range of dresses in good condition and at good prices and I was able to buy one of the rail for a very reasonable price and the alterations fees are very reasonable too. The staff put no pressure on you and made me feel good about myself after C&L made me feel like I'm the size of a house (I wear a 10-12) and insisted I needed a 16 this was what I needed to lift my spirits.

I wasnt rushed I tried on around 12/13 dresses and found an amazing dress (demetrios) which I am now really happy with. I cant fault them they have been brilliant will recommend them to anyone. They even offered to store the dress for me!

I Purchased My Wedding Dress From Divine Bride For

I purchased my wedding dress from Divine Bride for my wedding in 2009.

I had previously been disappointed with bridal shops and was very hesitant with DB when I called in to make my appointment. I felt that the shop assistant was a bit 'sharp' but I couldn't have been more wrong.

I returned a week later for my appointment and picked LOTS of dresses to try on! I am a size 14-16 and they had lots of different styles and ranges to choose from. I knew as soon as I tried it on but didn't return for another month to officially pick it. I picked the Jasmine Faith dress - the assistant helped me to pick a selection of dresses that suited my shape.

The dress needed altering and the in-house lady they use is brilliant with a sense of humour - exactly what you need in the pre-wedding stress!

I can't recommend Divine Bride highly enough.

My only word of warning would be to count alterations in to the overall cost of the wedding dress. I found out that all dresses are made to fit people that are tall so (being 5'5) needed it altered and hadn't accounted for that in my budget - the alterations alone worked out to be about £200 which was a bit of a disappointment but nevertheless it was worth it in the end!
