If anyone plans on sending off their wedding dress for dry cleaning I do not recommend this company. I sent my dress off after my wedding in august to be cleaned and boxed, 1 day after it was meant to arrive at their shop the owner rang me to say she’s sorry to tell me but my dress hasn’t arrived as it’s been lost in transit. She also said over the phone that normally if dresses go missing they usually turn up eventually, if that’s the case why ring me and tell me straight out that it’s lost! It seemed they hadn’t even contacted dpd, as my husband rang dpd and it was the first they had heard about the missing dress. So i think they just assumed it was lost as it was a day late rather than checking with dpd before contacting us. After crying down the phone for about 20 minutes, I didn’t even mention money but she was making it seem like she will compensate us for our loss and telling me not to worry about it.. obviously I wasnt worried about the money as I didn’t even want it i just wanted my dress back! Anyway she said how it was the weekend now so she would speak to me on Monday about it. Monday came and I had to keep chasing her up to eventually be told she was on holiday. Not once throughout this entire process was I rude or angry towards her even though most people probably would be with this situation, yet I felt like she was so disinterested and rude about it- it just seemed like she really didn’t care. we asked her if she could contact DPD and get them to do a proper search for the dress which she said she would. We ended up contacting DPD ourselves to search for the dress as we felt we couldn’t rely on this company to do it with any urgency. the ceo of DPD assured us he would review cctv of their warehouse and do whatever he could to find it. A week or so goes by and the cleaning company keep asking us for a receipt of the dress because they can’t compensate without the receipt, at this point I wasn’t ready to send the receipt as the courier company were doing an investigation and I was still hopeful it might be found, but she was adamant about having this receipt (who even keeps their wedding dress receipt anyway?) Once DPD confirmed it was 100% lost I contacted the shop I bought my dress from hoping they had a copy of the receipt and they told me the cleaning company had already rang them to check if I did actually buy my dress there (like I would lie). Got the receipt sent it off and all this company will compensate me is £500- less than half of the dress value along with alterations etc and I admit I didn't read the terms and conditions which does state in there somewhere that you need to purchase extra insurance for dresses over £500 but this wasn't made clear on the ordering form and there wasn't even a tick box at checkout to purchase extra insurance anyway. In a letter she sent to me to tell me this was the amount she will compensate she said "We can then proceed in sending you the insurance cover of £500 (which is more for your dress than the industry standard of 50% of the actual purchase price of a worn dress) by return" so £500 is more than my dress would be worth as it’s worn. Such an unnecessary, rude and insensitive comment to make to someone who’s had their wedding dress lost, to me the dress was priceless!! 
Although DPD are the ones that lost my dress they have at least made an effort to make things a little bit better sending an apology letter and hampers and the ceo was always on the other end of the phone if we needed to speak to him and giving us updates every single day even without us contacting him first, this dress cleaning company have us chasing them up for updates and answers and they are now only compensating £500. I’ve literally never come across such an awful company before, and I never post stuff like this, and I know there’s probably lots of people that may have used this company and might disagree with my opinion, everyone has different experiences. but I just needed to get it off my chest and also warn others if you send your dress off to be cleaned it’s not guaranteed to arrive back to you!! not with this company anyway. Also, this company have tried to take down my review, you would expect a wedding dress dry cleaner to have empathy and respect as they are cleaning a woman’s most special and important item of clothing they will EVER wear, however I feel like this company lack that as I feel the right thing for them to do would have been to contact me themselves when they saw my review with an attempt to try and show that they are sorry, or better still.. contact me before my review even went up, however it seemed like they didn’t want to take any responsibility and just shifted the blame onto their chosen courier. Obviously an apology wouldn’t bring my dress back but a bit of empathy and effort would have helped me accept it. but instead they request ‘Review Centre’ to remove my review.

We waited 5 weeks but on return of the dress it was amazing and the box was very nice with big Pink ribbon. She couldn't be more happy to see her very dirty and muddy dress back to looking clean and pristine again. Thank you to the person I dealt with for all your advise. We would tell anyone to use Gownclean but be patient as it takes a while to be returned. Having said that we didn't need to pay un till the weej of return so it made things easier on our pocket at that time.

Contrary to earlier reviews I couldn't be happier with the service I received. I was extremely reticent to send my daughter's princess dress anywhere and really did my research. The dress was collected and returned to my workplace on the days arranged. I had waited a year to have the dress cleaned so I am absolutely delighted that it is beautifully clean and sparkly. My husband thought I was mad to pay £150 but when he saw the result even he couldn't argue - and he owned a dry cleaners for 10 years!!! You can't get a better recommendation than that :)

I sent my dress to gownclean as they were recommended by the wedding gown shop that I bought my dress from after filling the details on line my dress was picked up by courier I did not here from anyone so I left a message and I was text back to say my dress had been received I asked how long would it take and was told they would contact me the dress was ready so I was happy with that. After six weeks I had not heard from anyone so I rang again leaving a message I was called back by a lady who said that my dress was all clean and looked lovely and they were awaiting the box to come in so I waited another two weeks and got an email to say my dress was ready and could I pay so that's what I did I paid straight away and the dress was delivered back to me when I opened up the box to look at my amazing dress the stain had not been removed from the dress so I contacted the lady who dealt with my quieries she said that they tried everything to get the stain out but Insaid to her why did you not contact me to let me know there was a problem she said she was too busy and they do there best to get the stains out I asked her for a refund of some of the money she said no that they had done there best I said that she could of text me or called me or even put a message in the box to explain she did not want to know I was devastated my beautiful wedding gown was still stained she did not want to help at all so be careful brides out there I would not re ommend this wedding dress cleaner.

My daughters dress arrived safely the parcel didn't have any scrapes, knocks or marks on it at all! By chance it was brought by the same friendly driver who'd picked it up . Love the purple ribbon, you have done a superb job and it smells so fragrant...better than the smell of the farm mud which was on it when we sent it to you for cleaning. I could also see where the very dirty, stinky part of the skirt has been cleaned and it is so much better than I thought it would turn out. Many years ago I worked for Sketchley's dry cleaners in Reading and know how hard it is to get something very dirty anywhere near to perfectly clean. They are so pleased with the dress. She can also relax now knowing it won't deteriorate over the years. Many thanks again to everyone in your team.

I would highly recommend finding another company to clean your dress. This company can be best be described as slow and unresponsive. I sent my dress in early December and am fighting to get it back by late February.

Definitely value for money. I am so happy with result of my dress. I would definitely recommend others to use this company. Extremely professional and done an amazing job. I feel happy and confident in wearing my wedding dress in July.. The only Fault I can add to this review is that it took the delivery company 4 attempts to pick the dress up. Lazy driver. I cannot fault the company in any other way. The dress also smells amazingly fresh.

I am very happy with the service I received and the results of the cleaning. Due to my remote location I found it hard to find a cleaning service which would collect and deliver my dress to my home address! Would definitely recommend to a friend!

I had the dress cleaned as a surprise for my daughter. It was stained ,& dirty where it had trailed the floor, but when I read the website it boasted about how good & specialized their cleaning was. The dress was returned back & is far from being clean. When I complained I was given the option of paying another £20 to return the dress to them, with no guarantee of a better result& also no liability taken if the dress got damaged by the process. Not impressed with this.

I just had to say a big thank you all so, so much for all your hard work put into my wedding dress which turned out to be a major project rather than a simple alteration. From start to finish you were fantastic and made me feel welcomed and relaxed throughout. I hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me. The dress was perfect as was the day and after picking it up yesterday after cleaning I was amazed!!!!!! It doesn't look like it had spent the day and night in a field at all I was gobsmacked.
