5 report tickets and direct emails later still no response. It used to be great value for money. But with no support I would not advise!

Yes, PBP is cheap but that comes with the downside of poor customer support. Most things are automated and you can whistle if you want to speak to a human. It has the feel of being run from someone's bedroom. They have just cut us off for non-payment. All previous invoices were a) sent in advance and b) paid automatically. This time they failed on a and b and we're on our ear, with all the associated embarrassment. We would have paid more to have avoided the frustration.

Used to be great - cheap, reliable, quick service over a good few years. Now there's no response form support. They didn't renew my domain (though took my money!). Trying to get my domain transferred elsewhere is a nightmare as I don't even know what contact email they used to register it with nominet! PBB has closed down (though the website is up and still seems to be taking payment) according to companycheck.

Paid invoice for this year and domain name shown as expired no email or web. Have raised 3 tickets to resolve problem no reply. The penguins have left the building, use someone else!

According to Companies House they dissolved in mid 2015.

then the account gets suspended
So they either aren't reading the tickets or just dont care !

I have been using Powered By Penguins and their Expert package for well over 2 years now and in that time have added additional hosting packages with great success. Logged support calls for things I wasn't sure of or wanted some help with and they have been great. The support has been quick and written in plain English so is easy to understand and action. I love this hosting provider as they are down to earth and do all that I want and do it really well. The price is great, I am using the unlimited package that means I can add as many hosting accounts for as many domains as I like each with there own control panel(great for sharing access to others if required). The uptime is not 100% but well above the 99.9% they guarantee and always has been. (NOTE: 99.9% equals roughly 45 minutes of downtime per month) In my experience the uptime has been a lot less than 45 minutes, in my records kept on uptimerobot.com the biggest downtime was about 20 minutes and most are a lot less than that usually less than 10 and always late in the evening or in the middle of the night. So in summary, this hosting package is great, maybe not perfect for a large company that needs a 24/7 website but for a small to medium business that has an online web shop it is a fantastic package and very very affordable with perfect support.

My website was temporarily disabled because it was apparently running a large number of processes as the "admin" says. They claimed a large number of ips were hitting my website but when I request a page log of which pages were being hit by which ips or just a page log of the pages hit the most my request was intentionally ignored 5 times.. which clearly means it was all a lie. This was over a good few days. The admin answered some of what I replied to but ignored my requests. Absolutely disappointed with this service especially since I'd used it in the past. Wouldn't recommend to anyone, thanks.

The price of the packages are very very good. I have been a customer of powered by penguins for a year and so now and in this time the support has just got worse and worse. When i first became a customer when you submitted a ticket, it would be fully resolved within a matter of a couple of hours now i'm lucky if it gets fully resolved at all. If you want a cheap service with lack of support then this company is for you, if you want a cheapish service and good support i suggest you go else where.

its cheap and attractive but the cp isnt good and it lags the speed of hosting is soo slow its like a free host, should be as fast a vps i recon if it advertises super speed it should have super speed that mis advertising

These guys are great. Any trouble I had they helped me to sort it out! Manu other companies simply send you to their help pages and are ironically no help at all. I couldn't recommend them enough. Its uber cheap too!!

Initial problems creating my account automatically due to the domain having references to the registrar so confused things a bit. Excellent support to resolve the issue from Paul. Good communication throughout the entire process & they gave me a delay before my next invoice is due :D so I'm a very happy sheep! I've tried out a number of other bigger companies before I found PoweredByPenguins and I have to say I've never found a host as good on all levels. I've transferred all of my domains to PBP. The value for money is second to none (like, 5 websites hosted for £25 per year, that's insanely good value), the support should you ever need it is practically instantaneous, and it's fully featured with a comprehensive control panel. And most importantly, unlike my previous experiences with companies who behave more like the mafia than a hosting company, PBP is a small company run by nice people. Very happy with them.

Really happy with everything. Been with bigger companies, paid more, and had less support and more issues. If you are looking for a new web host id definitely try these guys.

Iv been with PBP for over and month so far and its all good so far... there help/ ticket system is great and their prices are pretty reasonable - esp. if you are using the expert unlimited plan and have a lot of websites.

Are you a bit worried as to how to go about setting up your first website or what is involved? If like me (I was petrified) you were then these guys really cannot be faulted. They talked me through what I needed or thought I needed. A few bits that even novices could do that I was stuck on they simply just did for me! Whatever I have been confused with they have been there not only that, being in the UK they responded supremely quick when others failed to at all! Did I mention they were cheapest?! Of course for more advanced users you simply benefit from a stunningly good and reliable service and a superb price. Basic packages include the domain (at the time of writing) making it the best value I found. Since then there hasn't been 1 moment I wished I had looked elsewhere. Superb!

Powered By Penguins give a surprising amount of control and plenty of space for a price well under anything I could find elsewhere. On the rare occasion I've had to use technical support they have responded quickly and accurately. Would highly recommend this product.

I cannot fault these guys for how they are building out their services month on month. They respond to help desk tickets in a timely and polite manner (not treating you like an idiot) and have things in place to keep the hosting service online and performant. The price point for the features provided is a no brainer. No Nonsense stuff - If you are looking around for a provider who hosts data in the UK and is not giving any of your hard earned to big corporations... Give this a go and you will not regret it !

I have just used Powered by Penguin to host new new if rather small website and as a novice to web design and websites found it very easy to host my website through their control panel. OK it took me a while to fully figure out how to get it hosted but persevered and got it all up an running. Hosting prices are competitive.

Paypal eventually reimbursed us. They couldn't exactly argue with the evidence from Companies House.
The fact the Directors did not notify customers and and continue to run the skeleton service, letting each customer drop off the edge when the domain expires but taking their money at the same time is reprehensible. I would be surprised if it was not criminal as well.
