“Hotpoint/Indesit have poor customer service.”

My washing machine broke down after 3 years and as I didn't have an extended warranty I was told I would have to pay for the repair. OK that's fair enough. The adviser I spoke to said that for the cost of the repair it would be cheaper to take out an extended warranty for a year. This would cover the cost of the repair and the machine would be completely replaced if it couldn't be mended. So I signed up. No probs so far and a visit from the engineer was booked a week later on my husband's day off. On the morning they were due to visit he got a 'phone call to say the engineer had gone sick and couldn't come. He wasn't best pleased but made another appointment and I had to take time off work a week later to be in. In the meantime we had to go to the launderette as both my husband and I work in occupations that involve having a clean uniform each day. That cost £12.00 not to mention the time involved. On the morning that I was awaiting the engineer I got a 'phone call at 8.00.am saying that the engineer had gone sick. (Apparently this was a different engineer) I was appalled - I asked if they only had 2 engineers for the whole area?! So yet another engineer's visit was booked a week later. I have written to the manufacturer's asking for compensation for all this inconvenience and loss of earnings but so fat no reply. It seems to me that Hotpoint/Indesit are pretty good at selling you goods but not so good at fixing them if they go wrong. I will never buy this make ever again !

starting point: really quiet at first but, it started banging around and the concrete block WASNT SCREWED ON! so it FELL OFF! SCREW YOU PEOPLE WHO DESIGNED THIS ONE! ITS WORSE THAN THE WD420G! I think I give it a 3. HAD FOR 4 MONTHS ONLY! pros: quiet (at first), fast spin speed, autoclean, tempuature is nice cons: noisy (not at first), no spin on delicates, concrete block wasn't screwed on properly, no access panel for motor or element, damaged drum and element and side SCREW THIS MACHINE I wanted this machine to be quiet. dials are flimsy. not tilted at the front.
