Owned Astra vans since 1983, my first was a 1300 L petrol, covered 180,000 miles in 18 months, owned astra 1.7 diesel in 1989 but was dissapointed in the performance, just test driven the latest Sportive, wow, wont tell you what performance as may upset dealer. The only problem i have had with Astra vans in the years i have owned them, petrol at 52,000 the clutch went, the 1.7 diesel was far to underpowered

Good strong performance, good ride quality, with Imrscher kit on fantastic looks, excellent handling for a van, good load space, modern sturdy interiors, good heaters and lights, good overall design, easy to live with every day, good fuel economy. Excellent Well priced vans, great looks and quality, great for long journeys and although a van it doesn't get boring to drive.

This is my third Vauxhall Astra Sportive. I have owned the first a 51 reg 1.7dti was good the second a 55 reg 1.7cdti much better apart Vauxhall took the remote control off of the steering wheel which annoyed me a little and now I have a sportive se 150bhp and it is very good and it is so quick the reps in BMW can't believe there eyes! Good all round van!

I owned my 2.0 diesel sportive for 3 years and it never missed a beat, fantastic van for the value, it covered 185,000 miles in under 3 years, the only reason I sold is because I upgraded to a transit size. 8 months down the road I am returning to a new Astra Sportline, far superior than the VW Transporter that I have just sold....

Owned my Vauxhall Astra Sportive since Jan 03. 165,000 mile later and I'm still amazed at the sheer speed and pulling power of this thing. So realiable, not one thing has gone wrong in the time I've had it.
Bring on the New Astravan, Hopefully with another decent engine, not the 1.7CDTI, that one is pants.

I bought my Vauxhall Astra Van 2.0 TDi Sportive new in 2000 apart from a gearbox problem after 10000 miles (replaced under warranty) the van has worked very hard for me and been trouble free . 6 years down the line I still love getting in it for work every day, it looks and drives excellent and would be hard pushed to part with it.

I have had my vauhxall astra van 2.0 tdi sportive for 6 months from new, it is supurb! much like a car to drive, and being the sportive it has the air conditioning.
I really cannot find fault with it yet. I had a Ford Escort before and the differnce in speed is just amazing weather its fully loaded or not.
I wasn't to worried about load capacity but I don't think its much differnt in load carrying every day use to the escort. I am an electrician so it does carry a generator, cable, tools and so on so it can be quite a load. At 6.0ft I also find it very comfortable on long journeys.
The standard CD radio is also very good also in my view no other van in its class looks as good.

I had mine for 2 years now and my back is gone. The sports seats are completely useless the worst ever, the steering can't be adjusted the seats don't move far enough, its very loud inside. Very poor van if you have to drive for any distance. 100 bhp from 2 L engine is laughable
