Just stayed the weekend at the weekend in the Alton Towers resort hotel, with my wife and 3 children aged 11, 9 &8.

The stay at the hotel was excellent with the staff excellent food excellent and my kids just loved splash landings.

Our only moan was that the early ride time for hotel guests is not true. The park opens to the public at 9 and anyone who was in the park could get on the rides.

The rides opened under early ride time are very poor and compared to recent years not worth it.

Will go to Alton Towers again but will not stay in their hotel as the main benefit of the early ride time is no longer offered and therefore the price charged for 1 nights stay 220 GNP is not value for money
