These tires seemed OK when first installed. We run them in Canada during the summer months only. As the tires got worn they got extremely noisy to the point of distraction. We just had them rebalanced after winter storage and they run terrible, sound terrible and handle terrible. Estimate that they are about half life on tread wear, but we'll be scrapping them. By comparison our winter tires are much, much less noisy and handle much better.

I've got over 40,000 miles out of this set of tyres and there is still plenty of tread left. Not bad for a heavy powerful car. MPG is good with these tyres and the tracking perfect.

Brilliant durability! 42000 miles of my 'questionable' driving and im finally having to change them, although the front tires (which were the back) probably have a few k in them yet tbh.
The only reason i knock a star off for is the tyres tendancy to aquaplane.

Goodyear NCT5 standard fitment to a brand new VW GOlf Hatch in 2007. 40 months later they are being replaced at 77000km. Absolutly no problems with them in terms of handling, braking, wet weather driveability or in the dry. No doubt the manner in which I have driven has a lot to do with it too. I'm heading back to Goodyear for a new set, althought NCT5's aren't available any longer.

Had a full set put on my Boxster S about a year ago and felt very uneasy from the start! In the wet the back end felt very twitchy. I have now replaced the back with Avon ZZ3 and the difference is astonishing in the wet and dry and replacing the front soon. I know I won't get as many miles out of the Avon's but I would rather have the confidence in knowing I've got some decent grip below me.

All tyres replaced on my 2003 bmw 320d touer at 60000 miles (was then a company car) .Replaced rears at 137000 ,thats a life of 77000 ,The front pair are still on today with about 3ml left at 147000 ,87000 so far..Will replace with same no question...

Had these fitted for 20,000 miles so far. On current wear trend i expect they will just do 30,000 miles. Good grip wet or dry, they seem happy on my AWD car, no unexpected noise or feedback through the steering. A good all round tyre in my view. I understand that they arn't produced anymore?

My Fusion came with Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres on. I do a lot of motorway driving and don't push it in handling terms so perhaps I'm not typical. However, the front set lasted 47,000 miles and the rear set have now run through 62,000 miles and still have 3 mm of tread left. The Continental Contipremium Contacts that replaced the front set are down to 2 mm after only 15,000 miles so I know which ones I will choose in the future if I were paying!

Grip in snow, slush or ice is poor but a light weight car on 195 wide tyres is never going to be good on any normal tyres. As I live in the Pennines, I carry snow chains and don't rely on the tyre for grip under such conditions.

I fitted these thinking they would last 20000-30000 miles that's 30000-45000Kms. No such luck - I have just had to replace the rear tyres after less than 10000 miles and the fronts might last another couple of thousand. Poor wear characteristics or what! My car is also underpowered for its weight at 67 BHP ands 0-60 mph is 20 secs so I am not shredding them at all.

I won't be buying these again any time soon!

I got the tyres as standard on my Ford Focus. (205/50 17)
The tyres lasted 56000km of abuse, so it is hard wearing no doubt.
The dry grip is fine, but wet grip is questionable.
I agree with other reviewers that this tyre requires a lot of wheel balancing.

These tyres seem to have lasted well - I'm nearly up to 40K on them and the tread still has a little way to go.
However, I'm about to replace them anyway as my confidence in them is dropping rapidly. I'm no expert on tyres but the handling in wet or slushy conditions is terrible and rapidly getting worse.

In summary - long lasting, low wet performance.

Having had previous Vectras that were very good in the snow, my 2007 model with NCT5s was a horrible surprise. These tyre have almost no grip on snow or ice. In the dry the tyres are noisy and seem to have no good points.

This is the worst tire I have purchased in my life. The tire is pathetic and it took more than 120grams of weight when you balance the tire. After balancing it vibrated a lot after 60km/h. The Dealer Parimalam tyres, Erode, Tamilnadu, India refused to accept the fault and refused to change it.

After driven 3000Kms, I have changed to MICHELIN Energy MVX8 now. It took only 20grams of balance weight and ride is smooth now. No more vibrations in the steering wheel.

I never buy any GOOD YEAR tire product in the future. This tire is suitable only for bullock cart.

HAve just gotten 62k from a set on my VW Golf - so I can't complain.

Average life, about 32,000km (has had regular wheel alignment checks and regular rotation, I am an automotive mechanic) but I agree with other reviews re, tyre balance and wet handling. Tyres have needed rebalancing at regular intervals. Grip is OK dry but give zero confidence when driving in wet conditions. Tread depth is now averaging 2.5 mm and wet grip is even worse. I am changing them before they get to the minimum legal tread depth of 1.6mm, would hate to think how they would perform then. I will not be buying NCT5's again, there are better choices out there.

I drive a Toyota Corolla on all kinds of road conditions in South Africa and Botswana and these Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres, now 7500 km on my second change, have stood up to every test. There are better tyres, I agree, but certainly not at this price.

Got a reasonable price for 4 eagle NCT 5 tyres fitted to the car. The wife normaly drives it. I drive it when we are towing the caravan. First time out it was raining and towing the caravan, the tyres did nothing but slip and had hardly any grip. Not much better when dry. Without the caravan they are a bit better but in the wet they give you no confidence at all and if you run a manhole cover you can feel the front slide. On looking in to why these tyre were not as good as the originals it was because these are the NCT 5 against the original eagle f1 that are very good.
