165/70/14 fitted to a Skoda Fabia hatchback. The tyres have an assymetric tread pattern so be sure they are fitted the correct way round. The deep groove that runs all the way around the circumference of the tyre seems to clear standing water well and I have yet to experience any aquaplaning on these tyres which have covered 5000 miles at the time of writing. Grip levels are comparable to the Continental Eco Contact 3 tyres the car was previously shod with in both wet and dry conditions, noise levels again seem to be comparable and fuel consumption is at about the same level so the rolling resistance of the tyre would seem to be comparable. The overall balance of tyre seems to be better as fewer weights were used in balancing. New tyres have a good depth of tread and at current wear rates look to be good for more than 20,000 miles on the front wheels, a reasonable life span for a tyre with a very competitive price and a well known brand. The only criticism I have is that I bought Avon tyres believing that I was buying tyres from a British company, supporting British jobs in a British factory. It seems only their motorcycle tyres are made here, these tyres were made in Serbia. That's a #FAIL Avon! Taken in the round, the tyre is well priced, performs well and can be recommended.
