Fantastic tumble dryer had it since October 2011 but wouldn't recommend it to anyone recently started to make a popping noise followed by a smell of smoke think it may now be a fire risk i don't think I'm the only one with this issue other belko model's have been recalled but not this one

“Terrific Little Runner”

★★★★★

written by AlanHealy282 on 23/02/2015

We bought this condenser tumble dryer a little over 7 years ago. It's seen pretty heavy use by us - a minimum of one load a day and always 5 or 6 loads on the weekends. Being asthmatic, we use it to dry all our washing, especially as we have nowhere to hang out or air it. 7 years and it's still going strong, never gave us any trouble and has never needed repair. We clean out the lint and empty the bottle after each wash and rinse out the condenser every week, after the last load on Sunday. Once a month the area where the lint filter sits gets a good hoovering. We purchased it because it was all we could afford at the time (less than £190) but we couldn't have made a better buy.

“Dryer blew up”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Whaleofatime on 25/01/2015

Had this dryer for approx three years. It has been used at most once every 2 weeks during the winter months only and mostly it's been used to dry off clothes which have been dried on a washing line or on a radiator. I had it on the last week for this exact purpose and after it had been on for about 20 minutes I heard loud sparking and banging noises, followed by a burning smell. I ran in to the kitchen to hear the sparking noises getting louder and louder then there was an almighty bang and I saw the lid of the dryer physically lifting from the body of the dryer. It blew the main electic fuse box. I rang customer services to see if there was a fault on this model, only to be told it was perfectly safe!! I have now ordered a new dryer from an different manufacturer and have removed the lid from the old one to see what damage has been done. I was horrified to find the main electrical input wires and the connector block completely black and burnt, black smoke marks on the underside of the lid and small pieces of black carbon all over the inside of the dryer. I would never buy another Beko product again.

“Lasted just over a year”

★☆☆☆☆

written by rcKeegan241 on 17/10/2014

Last night when we turned on the dryer it blew the main fuse. Checked the fuse - good. Plugged the dryer into another outlet - same thing - as soon as I turned on the outlet the main fuse blew. It's been drying progressively worse but unlike some other reviewer's it hasn't give us any hassle with the water sensor - perhaps because we've been fanatic about making sure the collector was empty before we turned on the dryer. Going to contact the seller and see what they say about the UK Sale of Goods Act. Wish us luck - have a feeling it's going to be "go away - we won';t fix it or refund any money" - which will lead to us sending them this letter and if that doesn't lead to anything - well, guess small claims court is next.

“Dangerous waste of money”

★☆☆☆☆

written by sn00t on 08/08/2014

We have had our tumble dryer about 18 months. We don't use it unless it is raining, so through summer it isn't on that often. Today my wife plugged it in to use it, there was a loud bang and thick acrid smoke started to come out from underneath it filling the room. Would not trust again.

“MACHINES THAT DO NOT LAST”

★★☆☆☆

written by JonCrawford on 21/03/2014

I WILL TRY AND BE INPARTIAL FOLLOWING READING ALL OF THE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE. Bought our Beko DRCS68W just two years ago. We have not had any problems until yesterday. We use this no more than once a week and only then when we cannot hang out washing. We have adhered strictly to the manufactures instructions, regarding load, and filters, sensor cleaning and water removal at correct times. So everything has been okay and the clothes have always come out as per programme. Unfortunately, yesterday the machine tripped out our RCB and it took us a great deal of time in finding that the dryer was the cause. Switching off and unplugging all electrical power items. I SPOKE WITH A FRIEND WHO HAS HIS OWN REPAIR SHOP - REPAIRING WASHERS/DRYERS/ COOKERS ETC. He is very honest and reliable. Once i had told him that of this problem and advised that it was a BEKO condensor dryer, he said that he had several in for repair and that he had to scrap each one and that the problem was the PCB . {printed circuit board}. I think that is the problem with the one we have and if so it may have to be scrapped also. The thread is that are these Beko condensing dryers built and sold with known defects- or at least parts that do not last more than 2 years. Some of the reviews although no mention of PCb`s do not make good reading for anyone thinking of buying < ANY BEKO PRODUCT > !!!

“Total disaster”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 01/01/2014

This is the worst machine we have ever had. A walking disaster. The warning for full tank and full filter come on when the tank only has a few drops of water to empty and the filter regularly says full when it isn't. We have it in the garage and can't keep an eye on it but today it said full for both tank and filter when, literally, only about thirty drops of water came on so I cleared the tank and the filter and started it again only to find, half an hour later it said both were full again and the clothes inside were cold. THERE WAS NOTHING IN EITHER THE TANK OR THE FILTER. iT'S A COMPLETE WASTE OIF TIME AND MONEY I wouldn't buy another to save my life - we are throwing it away and getting a different make

“do not buy”

★☆☆☆☆

written by rock-god on 29/12/2013

I bought this machine a year ago but could not use it due to a safety recall saying that it may set on fire ! this was rectified 2 weeks later but the dryer has never been any good.Takes an eternity to dry anything , stops every 5 minutes telling me the water tank is full when it is not.Recently the heater element failed but was replaced under warranty . I cannot stress enough how bad this thing is...we are a family with three children so the machine does have alot of use but surely it should be able to take it ? If you have one of these , hang your washing on the radiators instead. its quicker and less frustrating !!!

“A waste of money - worst tumble dryer in the world!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by HullJe on 03/11/2013

Takes an eternity to dry anything, the filters are continuously dirty and it's always saying the water tanks full. It also leaves black marks on clothes which don't come out. The sensor which supposedly detects when clothes are dry doesn't work - I would not recommend this machine to anyone!

“Works a treat!”

★★★★★

written by on 12/03/2013

No issues at all. Had it 18 months. USe it around 3-4 times a week, dries all clothes we put in it perfectly. All I have to do is remember to empty the filter and water container. We have it placed in the garage but it does not seem particularly noisy at all. The first one I've owned and happy to have this model. Well done Beko!

“Rubbish”

My beco has done approx. 18 months work and the heaters have expired. Argos refuse to replace, so in future I will never use Argos again and previous to this I was a loyal customer, and never buy Beco either. Mr A from Suffolk.

“Do Not Buy”

★☆☆☆☆

written by oreilje on 12/09/2012

Bought this based on a budget - ran well for 6 - 12 months and has not ran properly since. Changed heaters ut to no avail. Machine will take an eternity to dry a full load. Has to be continually started so it will take days to get clothes to a nearly dry state. If left alone (not used for a week or more) it will dry the next load in one cycle but no more. I've tried to find out online about the problems and it is full of complaints about this machine. Problem is with the circuitry as far as I can assertain. DO NOT BUY

“Avoid. Won't last the year”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 21/04/2012

Now after running this BEKO condensing tumble dryer for a year, I think that people should know how bad this machine is. We are now onto a second heating element and the vibration and noise is terrible. These work really well for first 6 months and did a good job, but part are of poor quality and machine is just a total waste of money.

“Outstandingly Good”

★★★★★

written by andy8771 on 11/04/2012

This was bought to replace a much more expensive Hoover Vision which was basically total and utter rubbish. We took a gamble with Beko as I thought it would be a badly designed cheap machine....how wrong I was. The water collection is great and nicely designed to be at the top so no more bending over grovelling about on the floor, the filter likewise, both are really easy to empty. It is compact compared to others on the market,it has a three sensor programmes as well as a timer all work exactly as they should (listen out to that Hoover) The efficiency is second to none,we have three children under 6 so use it a lot.Its quiet, quick and does not cost the earth to run.Yes it does look ugly compared to more expensive models but looks are not everything especially when this cost £160 less than the Hoover HD. I have read the other reviews on this maybe the negative ones were just unlucky customers,I for one would buy it again.

“Costly waste of space and customer service to match”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 20/03/2012

My partner purchased this product on line 6 months ago (somehow it had good reviews???) From day one the power would cut out but I thought i must be over loading it or one of the filters needed emptying. Despite all my efforts of following instructions to the T, the power cut outs happen more and more until now it doesnt really work at all. I am dreading my electric bill! The machine just seems to bake inside but not dry the clothes. I forever wiping away damp fluff from under the filter which obviously is badly designed since fluff bypasses the filter or clings to the rubber door trim. It goes down the shaft under the filter into the unknown so i cant get to there to clean it up so must block somewhere keeping the machine too hot inside - but even without using the censor now, it wont start. Any way, I called Beko customer service today and a woman abruptly informed me that she could call an engineer out as it is within the 12 month warranty, that the warranty does not cover accidental damage and that this includes broken bra pieces, coins lost in the drum and damaged rubber door trim etc and that the call out cost and parts for such damage usually comes to around £150.00 .... ! Lovely spiel! After my obvious reaction being 'THATS DISGUSTING how can they justify that expense whilst under warranty for such things surely the dryer should be capable of filtering stuff like that (which it clearly doesnt even filter fluff) or what if, because i keep wiping the door trim ive damaged it somehow when thats clearly not the prelimanary problem and they .... she interrupted telling me most arrogantly that she had worked for several manufacturers and I would find they all have the same type of policy. Really, and £150! What? As this person was speaking to me in a most arrogant tone, and very defensive as well as if i had said i was disgusted with her, it became clear that Beko were a rip off company with customer service to match, making as much money possible out of customers using their badly designed products. Serves me right for buying Beko (well .. my boyfriends) STAY AWAY - THEY ARE COWBOYS

“So Far So Good”

★★★★★

written by AmandaV on 08/02/2012

We replaced a Bosch 10 year old vented dryer with a condenser as the pipe had always been a problem when pushing back against the wall. The Beco was a lot better value than the Bosch. A 6kg drum holds more than a full washer load, and the large square door ( looks good) provides easy access. We are very pleased with the drying of the dryer but sometimes on the ready to iron, have to put the clothes back in for a while. The drawer which holds the water is placed well at the top of the dryer as when this is full it can be quite heavy. The filter for holding the fluff is also easy to access. Once finished it beeps( slightly annoying) and will reverse action until you open the door. Hopefully the dryer will last as long as the Bosch, at which point I can report back.

“Great family dryer; still going after 4 years heavy use”

★★★★★

written by on 19/01/2012

This tumble dryer is still going strong after 4 years of HEAVY family use (1-2 loads PER DAY). All you have to do is make sure you maintain it - clean the condenser once a month or every 3 weeks (takes 1 minute, maybe less) and it runs like clockwork. Recently it tripped the RCD but it was easy to diagnose that the element needed changing (simply unscrew the back, unplug the element and see that it no longer tripped the RCD). I ordered a new element on ebay for £35, which arrived next day, and it's working like new. Frankly I'm surprised the element lasted 4 years of heavy use, but that has been the ONLY thing we have needed to do. It doesn't overheat like other condenser dryers I've had in the past (so long as you don't cram it full, but that negates the point of a TUMBLE dryer anyway), AND it has a DRAIN outlet which means it goes into the same pipe as the washing machine so we never have to empty the water drawer. I can't remember the price new - something like £250 or max £300, but has been well worth it. Only slight negative with a condenser is that it does make the air in the house very slightly humid for a few hours after use.

“Overall very, very poor”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 17/09/2011

I would not recommend anyone purchase this product. Finally, after 3 years ours has thankfully given up the ghost (now we have an excuse to buy another brand/model). Basically, the dryer takes so long even to dry the smallest amount of washing, it costs a fortune to use. Generally speaking, you get what you pay for and this dryer is no exception. Really really bad, don't buy it.
