Be Aware!!!

A ChatDeal rep who goes by “Brooklyn” called me and told me if I didn’t buy seat assignments from her that the airline was going to separate me from my baby/kids and that my kids were going to have to sit by themselves with strangers. She also lied and said the flight was completely booked and there was only a few seats left so it was urgent I purchased with her right away. She charged me about $600 for the seats. When I called Singapore Air, they said seat assignments with them was free and there were plenty of seats available and that that would never separate small children and families.

We have requested a refund so we can simply pick our seats with the airline directly, but ChatDeal is refusing even though there were no terms and confirmations agreed upon.

Ita Airways X Chatdeal

Booked a trip with chatdeal for wife and I to Italy, we had different return dates. During the period of purchase and trip day , we had some involuntary changes done by the airline. My wife had minor changes , I had a big change of an additional day. I tried to handle that with chatdeal several times , refusing to accept the extra day in Italy. Every time I called they would say something different , like , talk to the airline at the airport when the trip start. Our trip started , it went fine to come to Italy, but I had on the back of my head that my returning would be troubled. So I tried by chat , also requested to them to contact me thru phone , which they didn't do probably because it was an Italian number. So I had to relay and deal thru chat and email.

Finally a day before my returning date , they had me "scheduled" all my flights at the same day. Also told me thru email that I could have trouble to do my online check in bc the airline was experience issues.

I ended up stuck at the airport, my ticket got canceled, according to the aiine it was never confirmed. I had to book another one , using something that I already done.

So whoever is reading this trying to get info on them , I suggest to veer off. They blame the air company and the air company blamed them. Please don't waste your money and time. I also using a online legal help to see if can get something out of this , not sure how it will go. I lost one day stuck here at the airport area and about to lose another one due to my new booking.

I have all the proof needed to back up my story.

Chatdeal And Kayak Are In Cahoots To Sham People

Chatdeal seems to be a joke booking company. I thought I booked with Kayak and without paying attention, I and ended up with this company. I canceled my flight with British Airways due to Covid restriction in Europe. I received an email from Chatdeal that I need to use the credit by April 2023 and later another one which notified me that I need to use it by September 30th 2023. As a matter of fact British Airways has extended credits for tickets canceled during covid until September 2024. My son booked the ticked at the same time directly with British, cancel it due to covid19. British confirmed him that his credit use was extended until 2024.

I have been in contact with Chatdeal agent since beginning of April 2023 to book a ticked and use my credit and I was told from agent that my credit expired and need to contact British airways. Per agent, it will take two weeks for British to respond ( as of today, two weeks almost have passed). Even I have an email from them (other agent) that confirms that my credit is still valid until April 30th 2023, the agent told me that the other agent (so called Buddy) who sent the email made a mistake. This is a joke. I think Chatdeal has trained agents to trick customers and do whatever it takes to deceive them.

As conclusion it seems that I lost $900 to this sham company and I think Kayak collaborating with them without notifying us that booking is redirected to third party company, make it an accomplice . It looks like that both Kayak and Chatdeal are in cahoots with each other to sham people, which make even Kayak an company to unreliable search website for booking flights .

I will contact BBB and use all the other means to make people aware of this terrible company.

Don't Use Them

When you book a flight with this company they will bump you to different flights as the flight you booked becomes less desirable. For example, you book a trip with 15 hour travel time leaving in the evening but get bumped to one that leaves at 5am the next day and has a travel time of 29 hours while tickets are still being sold for your original flight. Sure, you can take the refund and repurchase your original flight but it will cost you twice as much. Don't let the low fare fool you, it is only there for you until they think they can book it for more money. Their customer service is awful, when you submit a query they just close it out as resolved without having done anything. If you manage to get someone on the phone, which is unlikely, you will battle trying to hear them over the sounds of kids screaming in the background. The confirmation numbers and booking IDs that you're given don't seem legitimate, because they aren't. Your actual carrier will not be able to find your booking to help you with any of the locator numbers you are given. Go direct to your airline to purchase tickets.

I Would Give It 0 Starts

First, I tried to cancel my purchase but CHATDEAL does not respect the 24-hour rule of flight cancellation and the company wanted me to pay a fee to cancel the flight.

Then, CHATDEAL also charged me MORE than the actual ticket costed. I went through Kayak, chose checked bags, at the end of the whole process, they did not include the bags but charged me as if they had included them. In my invoice, they only stated the prize of the ticket and the fees, which were crazy (way more than they appeared on the AA actual ticket invoice). When I contacted them to ask for the details and get this solved, they told me some BS for over two weeks about how they were looking into it. I insisted and in the end, after a lot of time sent, they said they could not provide me with the details of my invoice and that I wouldn't be refunded.

Finally, the customer service is a farce: forget talking to someone on the phone and count yourself lucky if you get to chat with a person that actually follows through and gets back to you!

Chatdeal Unethical

I have contacted both Kayak and Chatdeal with no luck. I booked a trip to Europe and need to change the dates. Chatdeal says I need to call the Airline. The airline says that I need to call Chatdeal. Now look up chatdeal reviews and see they have 66 1 star reviews. Most reviews state that the company does not help. BEWARE and not book using this service. I am posting this on Kayak as they run the company together. I am awaiting a response from either company.

I Made A Mistake Booking Through Kayak\chatdeal…

I made a mistake booking through Kayak which in turn booked through Chatdeal. Every dealing I have had with Chatdeal is '"we submitted a request and can't do anything else". After three months and 20 chats, emails, and calls I have no progress and nobody seems to be able to talk with the airline and make a one letter correction on a name. I have escalated and get the same inaction. By the way they want to charge me $150 for the correction. Book directly with the airlines! Save yourself the risk for the extra hundred dollars because if any issue arises it will cost you much more!

Kayak and Chatdeal are a middleman who can add no value. Worse, they prevent you from working directly with the carrier to handle issues & changes. The carriers just refer you back to Chatdeal. Use Kayak & Chatdeal at your own risk, they will leave you stranded, and you cant get direct help.

Hi, I had a similar experience with Kayak and Chatdeal. They are not responding to a $4,400+ refund to a flight canceled despite many attempts at reaching out to them. Hoping to get as many victims to report them as a fraud so they stop doing this.

I ended up having to buy a new ticket and cancel the one with a misspelled letter. Chatdeal charged me $500 for the cancellation. Chatdeal is pathetic. No consideration or assistance. They just recite their internal policies and don't follow up. As I said before I will never do business with KAYAK again and certainly not Chatdeal.

I agree 100%! this has been my exact same experience. it's been awful!! I'm going to lose my whole ticket because they won't do a slight correction, even though the airlines says it's possible. there's no one to talk to and I've spent hours trying to reach someone.

Ruined My Vacation That I Spent A Year Planning

I wanted to share an experience I had with Chatdeal with a recent flight I booked from Detroit to the Faroe Islands.

• 2/23/22

o Booked round trip flights to the Faroe Islands via KAYAK which routed me to Chatdeal

o Outbound flight (5/20/22)

 Depart DTW at 6:29pm and land in EWR at 8:29pm (SAS airlines being operated by United)

 Depart EWR at 11:30pm and land in CPH at 1:20pm on 5/21/22 (SAS airlines)

 Depart CPH at 6:35pm and land in FAE at 7:50pm (Atlantic Airways)

o Return flight (5/30/22)

 Depart FAE at 8:20am and land in CPH at 11:25am (Atlantic Airways)

 Depart CPH at 12:35pm and land in EWR at 2:55pm (SAS)

 Depart EWR at 7pm and land in DTW at 9:07pm (SAS)

• 5/20/22

o 2:26pm: received text from United stating that flight to Newark at 6:30 via United Airlines was cancelled

o 2:41pm: Booked last-minute flight on Delta Airlines from DTW to Newark because Chatdeal and United Airlines automatically did not find a new alternative route to FAE. Attempted to call both chatdeal and airline but wait times were long

o 3:30pm: Arrived at airport and checked bag via Delta

o 4:10pm: Called SAS who was unable to help me (after ~32 min hold), stating that the itinerary was owned by Chatdeal so any changes would have to be through them

o 4:46pm: Spoke with Redington from Chatdeal (after ~32 min hold) regarding situation and whether there should be any issues boarding plane from Newark to Copenhagen as the first leg of the itinerary was cancelled. He spoke to his supervisor and assured me that there should be no issues.

o 5:27pm: received notification that Delta flight was delayed from 5:45pm to 7:30pm while in line to board the pain

o 5:33pm: Spoke with Redington again regarding delay and possibility of missing connection. He reassured me that as long as connection was at least 1 hour 15 mins that I should be able to deplane, pick up baggage, and check in for international SAS flight.

o 7pm: boarded plane to Newark and was notified of another delay in the flight until 9pm. Had to deplane. Cancelled my first two nights of hotel in Faroe Islands and was charged for one night ($155) as timing of cancellation was too close to the reservation.

o 7:10pm: Spoke with agent at Delta gate regarding delay. Requested to cancel flight and pull carry-on luggage off plane as we would be missing our connecting flight. She reassured us that our baggage would be diverted to carousel 5

o 7:45pm: checked with Delta baggage center to see status of bags. They stated that bags were still on the plane.

o 7:50pm: Spoke with Ambros from Chatdeal who stated that the next available flight would be on 5/22/22. He made a tentative request for this itinerary.

o 8:15pm: took shuttle from McNamara terminal to Evans terminal to speak with representative at United Airlines regarding possibility of being on the next available flight to FAE. Arrived at the counter at 8:29pm and it was closed.

o 8:30pm: took shuttle back to McNamara terminal to check on luggage

o 9:10 pm: Checked with Delta baggage center after waiting almost 2 hours and baggage was never removed from plane. Therefore, baggage would be sent to Newark and have to be rerouted back to Detroit the following day

o 9:46pm: Spoke with Redington again confirming that I wanted to rebook trip from DTW to FAE on 5/22/22 and put in request (I provided last 4 digits of my credit card to confirm request). The new outbound itinerary was all via SAS airlines.

• 5/21/22

o 6:21am: Spoke with agent (after being on hold ~40 mins) regarding why I had not received confirmation yet regarding rebooked trip. She stated that Redington did not make it an urgent request so she switched it to urgent

o Spoke with Delta baggage. Our luggage was in Newark and they guaranteed that it would be on Delta flight 2147 to Detroit that day (landing at 2:47pm)

o 9am: Went to United counter at DTW to see if I could be rebooked for an earlier flight to FAE. They stated that they could not help me as itinerary was booked via a third party and airline was SAS (even though first leg of flight was operated by United)

o 9:17am: Spoke with agent again regarding confirmation of new itinerary. She said she would speak to her supervisor and call me back

o 9:29am: Agent called back but stated that she would need to wait for the staff who books the flights to arrive. She stated she would call me back.

o 10:35am: I called agent back after waiting an hour and not receiving a call back. I followed-up on the request to be booked on the flight for 5/22/22. She stated that the staff was working on the request but I was guaranteed a seat on the flights for tomorrow. She stated she would call me back once she had an update with my new itinerary.

o 2:25pm: I called agent again for an update and she said that they were unable to rebook me on the new flight as the original itinerary had two different airlines and the new outbound flight was only via SAS. I requested a refund for the entire itinerary. She told me that refund would take 3 weeks.

Chatdeal was very slow to help me with my itinerary that I had booked through them, even after expressing multiple concerns. I had to call multiple times and spent several hours on hold (in total) trying to resolve the issue and be booked on a new flight. If they were able to resolve the issue or tell me that I could not be rebooked in a timely manner, I could have cancelled my itinerary with them and rebooked a new flight (although at double to triple the price) but with their slowness I wasn’t able to book a new flight that would land in Faroe Islands and give me a reasonable amount of time to explore the country.

I started planning this trip a year in advance and only had one week of vacation. To say that they ruined my only vacation is an understatement.

Please avoid doing business with Chatdeal at all costs. They will not help you if there are any issues with your flight.

Stay Away From Chatdeal

After I had completed the first half of my round trip, I received an email from chatdeal saying that the airline for my return trip had "declined" my itinerary. I spent three precious days on the phone with chatdeal representatives, and all they could do was shrug and blame the airline... even though chatdeal had sent me a confirmation email months earlier after I'd booked the trip. They ended up giving me a horrible new itinerary, with an extra layover and really short connection times. I had no choice but to accept. And then, my worst fears came true: my first flight was only 15 minutes delayed, but it was enough so that my luggage didn't make the connection (it's still lost) and I missed a connection as well. What's the point of a confirmation email, if they can't commit to getting me to my destination AND BACK with a workable itinerary?

Horrible Customer Service

Airline changed the flights of our booking, and we were offered a free change. We selected the new flights, and got an email to say they were accepted Tuesday 3/1. Its now Friday 3/4 and we still don't have a confirmation. The original booking we got a confirmation 5 minutes after booking. We have been in touch on their chat, and just get told the 'change team' will reach out to us soon, each time we use it. I have tried email and get a similar response, ' it will be done soon'. My wife called and spent over 2 hours on the phone on hold only for them to give an automated message and then hang up.

Will no longer make bookings on Kayak/Chatdeal
