We loved all the destinations advised by Exotic Voyages, the hotels were great and among the top rated, the private guide services were excellent and beyond expectations, and all our transportation services were punctual and very good.

I really recommend them for any kind of trip to Asia!

We visited Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh. We had limited time and would have liked to stay longer, but Exotic Voyages did help us to choose the right times in the right destinations. They have very few opportunities for schedule timing at some cities and regarding transportation services, but surely none of these caused any trouble at all.

We (a retired couple in the U.S.A.) engaged Exotic Voyages for our 20-day trip to Myanmar in January 2015 because of excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. Mai Phuong was excellent to work with. She generally replied within 24 hours, with the exception of a couple of times. We worked together to revise our itinerary and to upgrade some of the hotels. Before finalizing the itinerary I researched locales and hotels online to confirm that this was the trip that we wanted. I would do this with any travel agent. All of the guides were excellent. Everyone was on time and they confirmed all reservations. I requested and she gave me advice on tips for guides, drivers, etc. I would use Exotic Voyages again for a trip in Southeast Asia.

I have used this company for a trip to Myanmar in November. I have nothing but praise for this company from Initial booking to holiday. Thanh worked on an itinerary that suited both myself and my sister, on what we wanted to see and what he suggested. Initially thought it was a bit expensive, but for what you got and the service it was justified. All flights and hotels and tours were all booked by Exotic Voyages, so all we had to do was turn up. What I really liked was that they used local guides who knew a lot about the places we were visiting and nothing was too much trouble if you wanted to deviate from itinerary or go some where else that they thought you might be interested in.

My wife and I have recently returned from a Best of Myanmar tour. We visited Yangon and Mandalay as bookends to a cruise up the Irriwaddy river aboard the RV Paukan 1947. The hotel accommodation was excellent and the tour guides in both cities provided an excellent service ensuring that we saw the essential sights and much more, based on their local knowledge and contacts. The river cruise provided a great balance of interesting excursions ashore and relaxing time watching the world float by. The crew, serving between only 10 and 30 passengers, did everything to make you feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. The excursions made the most of alternative forms of transport (trishaw, horse and cart etc) to get you to local villages/schools and temples along the banks of the river. Bagan, with its many(!)temples was handled in a clever way so that we were not swamped by the scale of the area. The tour guide aboard did a great job every day to prepare you for and escort you through each day's events. Exotic Voyages office staff ensured all the travel arrangements (long haul and local)combined smoothly to provide an ideal overall package. People can use them with confidence.

Booked a 10 day trip in Myanmar for my Honeymoon.

Setting up the itinerary was effortless and painless. They took care of everything. The only thing we needed to do on our own was acquire visas, but I'm sure they would have helped with that if we had asked.

Once we arrived in the country everything was perfect. Pickups at airports, comfortable cars, able drivers, knowledgeable tour guides, amazing hotels, domestic flights. Everything was taken care of. That said, even with the set itinerary there was still flexibility on the fly to add sights and destinations and move things around to fit our preferences. They even went above and beyond to secure us an elusive reservation at a wonderful restaurant that we really wanted to try.

There was a minor snag on our final day regarding access to a driver, but management was easy to communicate with, pro-active, and quick to fix the situation.

Would highly recommend Exotic Voyages and Myanmar

I chose Exotic Voyages because of the excellent reviews and because they answered my email very promptly. Unluckily I cannot share the enthusiasm of the other customers, I don't know if it is because I have very clear ideas about what I want to see and do and I do not accept a standard itinerary without discussion. Last March I asked them if they could organize a tour of Myanmar and Yunnan lasting about one month between October and November. I am retired and I have no precise limits of time. They answered positively and we began to decide the itinerary. At first I wanted to see the hot-air balloon festival near Inle lake. They had no idea of when it was but when I gave them the dates first they acknowledged the fact and later they said it was not possible to arrange a visit because it was dangerous!... When I was in the place, actually then some days before the festivals, the locals confirmed that the festival is indeed beautiful and it would have been great to attend and of course it was not dangerous at all. Too bad!

I worked on the program for some time together with the agency and finally the itinerary was considered definitive in April. I left in October and although I liked Myanmar the organization left a lot to be desired. Just to give some examples, in Yangon the program featured only the visit to the market whereas the famous Shew Dagon Pagoda was completely disregarded and no time was allowed to visit it; at Inle lake one day was described as full-day trekking, on the contrary the local guide informed us that the trek lasted just three hours, luckily he was very kind and offered us an alternative option; in Bagan the program featured two identical sunset cruises, also in that case the guide pointed that out and suggested something else. But what was most annoying is that on the third day of our travel I began to receive e-mails informing me that the itinerary in Yunnan had to be changed cancelling two of the major highlights because of lack of time!.... Now of course I had never given a limit of time and I confess I hadn't checked the distances thinking that the agency would do that. I understood that Exotic voyages uses an agency in Myanmar and an agency (Orientis) in Yunnan and I guess they have problems of communication. The saga went on for the whole duration of our stay in Myanmar, every night a new e-mail with a change of program, which is certainly not the best thing to make your holiday pleasant and relaxed. First we were told that the road was under construction and we couldn't go to the rice fields in Yuangjang. We saw when we were there that it wasn't true, the road was perfectly ok, only there were many kms to drive (which hadn't changed since April of course). Then they said that the trekking in Tiger Leaping gorge could not be made because it was too long. I was perfectly aware of the duration of the trekking as my daughter did it last year but it took me some days to make them accept my plan. We received a final program, slightly modified from the original but still acceptable two days before arriving in China. When we arrived we discovered that the program had been furtherly modified, nothing written was given to us and every day it was a surprise!.... Hotels had been changed also because often we stopped in a different town than planned, the train timetable was different, we had once a car instead of the train, the trekking was moved on a different day so that we had no time to visit Lijang.and we had a completely superfluous extra day in Shangri La. Moreover my friend was asked to pay an extra 60$ to be taken to the airport (ten minutes' drive!...). On the whole I am afraid I cannot recommend Exotic Voyages as a professional tour operator.

Exotic voyages booked every single part of my trip to Vietnam - internal flights, transfers and private drivers, tours (including tours of Saigon on Vespas and the tunnel tours via speed boat!) with guides and all our hotels to our specific requirements. I wouldn't normally book through a travel agency but as wanted to see the whole country in just over 2 weeks I wanted to make sure I did it properly and left nothing to chance!

The staff at Exotic Voyages spoke excellent English, they were polite, friendly and extremely patient with me when I lost my itinerary and needed to change arrangements several times at short notice.

The hotels were all as advertised. The guides all spoke excellent English and had a wealth of knowledge outside the immediate tour to help fill in the broader social and political history if that's something you're interested in. The cars were clean and comfortable and all had water and where we hadn't ordered a guide the driver knew the stop off points for photos! The drivers we're where they were supposed to be in plenty of time and we were therefore where we were supposed to be in plenty of time.

Our holiday was fun, exciting, non-stop with a few days of relaxation thrown in for good measure. I can't thank Exotic Voyages enough for the care and attention they gave to us on our holiday because it meant I could enjoy what was a complicated non-stop tour of the country in 2 weeks without being stressed at all.

I would highly recommend Exotic Voyages for your trip - I thought they were wonderful!

Having just returned from a trip to Myanmar and Cambodia, I have nothing but words of praise and appreciation for the wonderful organization and extremely efficient service provided by Exotic Voyages. The competent, friendly and helpfull guides who assisted us throught our two week trip were of the highest level, the hotels and programmes selectioned for us were very enjoyable in every way and in general, their attention to every detail was perfect. I would not doubt in highly recommending their services to anyone planning a trip to Southeast Asia, a truly fascinating area of the world.
