My single trip policy wasn't the cheapest on comparison site, yet excess lower than most and AA is a brand I have come to trust over the years.
After purchasing the policy online I received an email with basic details to check and the promise of full policy in 24 hours. When I checked I noticed that the details were MR not MRS as I intended, I telephoned to inform of mistake and rectify. Firstly the young lady was quite rude in informing me that i must have chose MR from drop down box I said well I'm not a MR, she seemed to want to argue with me on how it was my fault. I asked for a refund saying i would reapply then using the correct selection of MRS, it was only then did the young lady offer to change it which was all I wanted.
It has been 4 days now and I haven't received any policy or confirmation of change so I telephoned again, i was told today that it has been changed and my policy will be emailed to me in the next 48hours! I said I can't leave it that long as flying in a few days, so the young man said he will have to complete a form so I can receive it in 24hours.
I have never received this kind of service when purchasing travel insurance from any other company and I will not be using the AA ever again. I want to warn others of this unprofessional slow service, I haven't even gone on holiday and I am quite worried now that if they can not cope with the administration of a policy then what would they do if I made a claim!
I would just like to add that of course my payment for the insurance policy was taken immediately so this part of their admin system works fine!
