Lacklustre, lack service, lack my future custom

At first I was impressed. I booked my honeymoon to Egypt through them and for convenience bought the travel insurance they offered. The holiday itself was wonderful. However, when we arrived at Luxor airport to get our flight to Cairo, where we were to change to get back to London, we were informed that our outward flight from Cairo didn't exist!!!

Apparently Opodo were supposed to send us emails. They hadn't. They didn't tell us that not only the time but the date of our return flight had changed. The staff at the airport said we had a choice, go to Cairo and be stranded there for 15 hours or remain in Luxor and be stranded there instead.

When we got home, we decided to put in a claim on the insurance offered to us by Opodo. They rejected it saying that the 'Delayed Departure' section didn't cover rescheduled flights as these do not count as delays. So, thanks to them our honeymoon ended with us spending £150 of our wedding money gifted to us by friends on a shoddy hotel and new coach tickets to get home when we finally landed. Don't book through them unless you don't want to be notified of important details about your holiday and certainly don't buy their worthless insurance as they won't pay out and don't even apologies for ruining the end of your honeymoon.
