Teletext holidays cancelled my holiday due to coved 19. The holiday was cancelled by them 47 days ago. I have sent over 50 e mails to them asking for a full refund, they offer vouchers and credit notes etc. I want a full refund, they state they will offer a credit note which is not acceptable,. Ithink 47 days is long enough to wait for a refund, they have taken my money. The law states refunds after 14 days of cancellation........ Ive waited 47 days and still no further forward getting the refund. This company is useless and robbers. They took the cash from my account quick enough, but refuse to repay it. This company should be struck off the list. I would not reccomend this so called holiday company to my worst enemy.

So me and my friend booked a quick getaway to Spain and was really looking forward to it. I had stayed at the hotel before so knew what to expect and couldn't wait for our short break. 3 days before we flew the hotel changed our accommodation with NO EXPLANATION whatsoever! we had no choice but to accept the new location which was not ideal as we only had 3 days to go and had booked time off work and made plans. The hotel facilities were fine but the security was very poor (twice someone walked into our room with their own keys) and the noise was horrendous. The location was poor and miles from where we wanted to be and was unable to get to by transport. Thus ruining the holiday. To make it worse we were then delayed 3 hours coming home. Although I understand this is not Teletext, they took 2 months to respond with a measly offer of "Goodwill" stating they were basically not liable as they are just an agent! I would rather stay in the UK than user this company every again! Their customer service is rubbish and they do not "BOOK" or GUARANTEE your booking at all. Shambles!!

Price went up from advertised but still seemed reasonable. Researched long and hard as I'm picky about hotel. For me the holiday is the hotel. Booked it although a bit unhappy it was more money than expected but that can happen elsewhere. Got immediate quote (I will do your very good price) then confirmation. Next day advisor called to say that hotel is booked up and suggested another. I was out so he told hubby he would call next shift starting 10am in the morning. Was still waiting at 11.30 so called them. Nightmare. Said suggested hotel was not the same and wanted money back. To be fair after the first advisor got panicky I was put through to both original advisor and super. Had a shout that original guy was happily in work taking new business and decided I could hang for however long it suited him. If you say you are ringing then flippin' well do it!!! We rearranged holiday, upgrade to 4* with facilities I wanted, new fly date, new island even. Ok. But no e mail. So, having coped with family issues in between, I called them again (always fun). Was told I have to accept the holiday for it to be booked. Nonsense, booked on say so on phone earlier. She then said yes it was! Where is my e mail saying so. Oh no you have to wait til tomorrow for that. Why? No decent answer so we went back and forth on this for a while. The only thing the same about my holiday is that I have booked with them, everything else changed (except booking number) so why no e mail. I am down £1200 and only have hand written notes to say what I'm doing. Eventually she said she would pass this on as feedback. Ridiculous, in any business any changes are e mailed back surely? So in amongst having a fairly miserable few days I await their precious e mail. On top of that I have looked at the hotel details on all the sites and it is shown as variously 3, 3.5 and 4*. I reckon 4* comes from Thomsons 4T rating, which means something to them but isn't a star rating. And, most importantly, its £150 cheaper for same hol and time! She says its not the live price but it is, theirs clearly are not and its the last time I raise my stress levels by using Teletext, especially when I have so many other things going on which are managing that by themselves. Looking forward to my holiday? Never less so. How disappointing is that? Never again Teletext.

The TELETEXT SALES TEAM are very rude maybe the website should allow us to get the correct price before we call the sales team as it is sales only. I use to use Teletext holidays all the time but don't think ill be booking through them this year

Tried to book a holiday with Teletext to Lanzarote but never actually got to. We saw the price that was displayed on the website and was happy with that so we rang up Teletext to book! Only then to find out the price had gone up £150 since looking on the website because the 'flights' had gone up. We then got a total price with transfers for then to come to an extremely high price. The price you see on the website is NEVER the price you will pay!

I have rang every day for 5 days and the closest I got to price online was £50 each more expensive. One actually tried to charge me £200 more for holiday, yet online the price has only changed by £2 in 5 days.

My boyfriend booked this holiday as a surprise for my birthday but he's now had to tell me about it and ruin the surprise because they have messed up our booking. A week ago he booked us to stay at the seabank resort in Mellieha for 7 days all inclusive , 5 days later he receives an email explaining there's been an occupancy issue and we now have to stay about an hour away in their sister hotel San Antonio in Buggiba. We checked this hotel out and half the restaurants are closed meaning there will only be 3 to eat from where as seabank hotel had 7 restaurants all of which are open and ones that are more suited to our taste. That is already a downgrade in hotel for the amount of money which had been agreed for the holiday. We told teletext holidays we were not happy with this and we'd like to stay in the original hotel. 3 days later we heard nothing back from them so we called today to find out the outcome and hey have told us they are waiting for a reply from the suppliers of that hotel. This is really not fair because our holiday is supposed to be in about 10 days time and at the moment we only have flights. And not hotel, this is very very unfair. How can they call themselves a holiday agent when they have taken our money with no holiday set in place. This is an absolute joke . And according to the woman I spoke to on the phone , if they can't put us up in the hotel we paid for we cannot have our money back. If this is not sorted il be going to the papers.

The Hotel Esplendid in Blanes, Costa Brava, Spain is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. Please read this report carefully and do not get caught out as we did.
Terrible food. Breakfast was practically non existent and of dreadful quality. Dinner was almost the same but not entirely dissimilar. All the food was stodgy. How they can even imagine "humans" would want to eat this way beats me. The quality of the room was NOT to standard.
We went Half Board through Teletext Holidays (also known as “Truly Travel Ltd”) which was also a mistake as I can only use 2 words to describe them – VERY DODGY! They lied to us about a lot of things. They told us the hotel was one of the best in Blanes (LIE). We booked transfers through them which they booked through a company called “From2”. They told us the transfer time was supposed to be 1 hour, which is acceptable. But after paying for the holiday and receiving my confirmation documentation, it was printed that transfer time was 2 hours – Not acceptable. I questioned this and was told that this was the total transfer time including the return (ANOTHER LIE). The truth is that after flying in and landing at around 23.45pm, we went and found From2 and were then told to hurry through as the coach would be leaving at 00.30am. Beware, it’s an extraordinarily long walk! We got to the coach after walking for what seemed like ages. We got on and then sat there for the next hour whilst the driver waited for another flight to come in. It was totally disorganised. People were getting on the coach. People were getting taken off as was luggage. I just do not know what the hell was going on there. The driver didn’t even speak English so it was pointless asking him what was going on. When the coach finally got going over an hour later, we then faced the 2 hour journey to our hotel as other travellers needed dropping off at their respective hotels on the way.
We finally arrived at our hotel in the early hours of the morning. Tired and “dirty”. All we wanted to do was have a shower and go to sleep. But after having to pay a “Tourist Tax” which Teletext Holidays also did not tell us about, even after I asked if there was anything else to pay and was told no (YET ANOTHER LIE), nothing could prepare us for the next insult. And by-the-way, I have photographic evidence of everything I’m about to say. Beware, this hotel is publicised as a 3 Star. Believe me, it should be lucky to even receive a 2 Star at best. AND, absolutely not in the condition of the photos you see on-line. These were probably taken when the hotel was new.
1. There was a horrible smell of damp in the room.
2. The beds were metal “Camp beds”. Very, very hard horrible mattresses. You cannot sleep in those beds. They are so uncomfortable!
3. The door to the room was broken. Not secure. I think it may have been “kicked” in at some time in the past. A very cheep repair with filler had been applied. You cannot rest knowing that someone can come into your room at any second. You cannot leave the room knowing that your personal possessions are at risk.
4. The decorative state of the room, and even the rest of the hotel is awful. In the room there were huge cracks and holes in the walls. The heating radiator was covered with rust. The floor had small holes all over the place. In fact, the whole hotel looks like it’s in a “time warp” back to the 1970’s, which is probably when it was built and has never been updated. The walls are very thin in this hotel which means you can hear everything between rooms. You can also not get away from the noise coming from the hallways due to the doors being rubbish too.
5. The wardrobes were in a very bad state. Cracks in the backs. Mouldings missing. Unclean.
6. The balcony had damp, mould and dirt everywhere. There where holes in the side privacy panels.
7. The bathroom was disgraceful. The bath was rusty and there was mould around the edges. There were rust spots in the base of the bath and there were also minor repairs where there must have been some damage in the past and a cheep repair with filler was applied.
8. The air conditioning was not working at all. Very bad in the heat of Spain.
9. BEWARE – You have to pay for everything at this hotel. For example, they publicise that they have Wifi, Room safe, TV, etc. Paying for Wifi access I can understand, but what they don’t tell you is that if you want to use the safe, you have to pay. When looking around the room for the TV remote control, you will not find one. Go to reception to ask about it and you will be asked to pay a rental fee for it. What a joke.
I immediately telephoned the Teletext Holidays 24 hour helpline which of course is an international call charge from my mobile phone, only to get someone who sounded like I’d got him out of bed. He was of course, no help at all. I tried to tell him everything but all he kept saying was that I needed to call back in the morning. He was like a scratched record!
We did not sleep a wink that night and were definitely not able to take a shower.
In the morning I telephoned the Teletext Holidays 24 hour helpline again and explained everything again. Another international telephone call charge. I told the customer service operative that if they wanted us to stay at the hotel, then we had to be given better accommodation or we’d have to be moved to a better hotel. I’ve got to be honest, the lady I spoke with sounded quite understanding and said that someone would get back to me by 11.00am.
Whilst waiting for the call back I went down to reception and explained the predicament. When I told the young girl behind the desk what room we were in, she had a look of horror on her face. Obviously she knew the kind of room we’d been given!
At around 10.30 we were moved to what I must admit, was a better room. Not perfect, but none-the-less better. It was cleaner. Still had a couple of cracks in the walls and a minor bit of rust on the edge of the bath. The beds, although of a similar style to the previous room did have a bit better mattresses on them and at least were sleepable.
11.00am came and went and I got no call back from Teletext Holidays, so I called them again. Another international phone call charge. I spoke to another customer service operative and informed her that we had been moved, and although a better room, we would stay there under certain circumstances. Those being, that, I wanted us to be downgraded from Half Board to room only as I was no way going to eat that disgusting food, and that for the problems of the previous night and room, that I would expect a reimbursement of £200. I asked her if she felt I was being unreasonable, to which she replied no. The call was ended by her telling me she would speak to the complaints team and have them call me back.
The final insult:
I received a call from a man in the complaints team, and this is what I was told.
If I wanted to move hotel, I would have to pay to do so.
My only option was to stay…. AND that all they were prepared to reimburse was £20 and that the minimum they could downgrade us to was Bed & Breakfast which is publicised as “Free breakfast” anyway .
£20?????
For all the trouble they’d put us through and the downgrade, that’s all that was offered?
Well, I suppose, it just shows what the quality of the food is, if the Half Board package is worth only £20.
So, the question is:
Would I ever travel with Teletext Holidays (Truly Travel Ltd) again? – NO
Would I ever go to the Hotel Esplendid again? – Absolutely NO
I will of course be taking this matter further. But I can only say this. Travel with Teletext Holidays (Truly Travel Ltd) at your own risk. You can see how they have treated us. I would hate to see anyone else having to go through what we have been through. Also, go to Hotel Esplendid at your own risk or if you like that sort of thing.
Update: Since returning home, I took the matter up with Teletext Holidays (Truly Travel Ltd). Provided them with everything they required for their investigations, including all the photographic evidence. AND, despite making all that effort, you can guess, they’ve washed their hands of it.
Once again:
Would I ever travel with Teletext Holidays (Truly Travel Ltd) again? – NO
Would I ever go to the Hotel Esplendid again? – Absolutely NO
Update 14 November 2016
I contacted then directly beforehand and offered them the chance to
rectify the issue before I went "public", but as countless people before
me have experienced, they are dreadful to deal with. Mine is not just a
rant, but a real life experience. They need to be put out of business.

Yes, of course, happy to - TT400106
But, I'll tell you in advance, you have already been given the opportunity to look into it, and you have given your answer, which after all the information and photographic evidence I painstakingly took the time to send you, you have given the the usual "brush off" you appear to give to the majority of your customers who have genuine complaints like mine, hence the reason for going public, because everyone in the world needs to know what a dreadful company you are to do business with.
You have a real opportunity here to make things right - So make things right. Show the world you are a GOOD company to do business with.
This very same reply has also been posted on Moneysavingexpert after you asking me this very same question there on 11/11/16, and you have not yet responded.

Book through this company and its overseas call centre only if you want your email etc to be hacked within a few minutes of contacting them. Their staff are less than honest and they promise you the sky but do not deliver. I contacted them earlier this month to get a deal they were advertising. But they said it was 'sold out' and I had to settle for a more expensive deal. As soon as I gave my email details someone tried to hack it a few times within a few minutes ! Was it a coincidence ? I think not ! It was an overseas call centre office. Then the staff there forced me to part with almost half the total package cost immediately though they advertise that you only have to pay 10-20 % of the cost initially. The staff also 'promised' me to contact me again soon to inform me about the 'Double-bed' room and vegetarian food availability at the destination hotel. I am still waiting to hear from them. In short this is a crooked company employing dishonest staff. Beware ! Beware ! Beware !

Keep clear of this travel agent. I booked our first family holiday 12 months in advance after a lot of research picked the ideal hotel. Teletext holidays use third party suppliers. 6 days before we were due to travel I receive a call saying the third party supplier had gone into liquidation and we didn't have a hotel for our holiday. This particular company went into liquidation 4 weeks prior to my phone call that's right 4 weeks. If they had acted straight away we would still have had our original hotel. It took 36 hours and a lot of stress for them to find us a hotel which was in a completely different resort and substandard. I have complained on numerous occasions to no avail. They have not had the decency to give me a full response. It is now 6 weeks and still no correspondence from teletext. TERRIBLE COMPANY

One of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. Found a holiday online for a week later advertised for £400 per person rang was told total cost £1850. Live price. Booked an thought all done. How wrong was I. They rang me back half hour later hotel full so they booked me on a allocation on arrival 220 km away but needed £400 to do this. I refused and asked for a refund. Was told cannot refund. I asked to speak to his manager . He refused. After lots of we will call u back calls nothing. I looked online again an there was my original booking being sold cheaper. I rang again and booked it . Never got to payment stage but have the email references. I did this a further 3 times. They was still selling the holiday and changing it when they had your money. Teletext holidays use Indian call centres. The real teletext holidays is called truly travel based in uk. I did get a hotel refund but not my flights. They also rang me for days trying to get me to book the holidays I knew was not available . I would never even look at there website again

I upgraded on the phone to a room with a kitchenette for self catering, however when I arrived at the hotel I got a standard room only room. I spoke to the two women on reception who said that they didn't have any kitchenette rooms and it wasn't their problem. I rang the emergency line on Monday, they said they'd have a reply within 24-48 hours. 4 days later I rang back (after still no reply) and was told the same again "24-48 hours". It's now been 11 days, I'm back in the UK and still no reply. We had to take out a lot more money and use our credit cards to be able to eat out for 3 meals a day for 7 days as the room was tiny and had nowhere to store any food, so we've spent a lot more than we planned. I'm most annoyed that I paid extra for something that I didn't have and that the customer service is awful. They are very quick to take your money but are not at all interested after! Avoid...

I booked a holiday to Tenerife through teletext. (4 adults, 2 kids and infant). I contacted our hotel directly to ask for rooms next to each other and the reception emailed back saying the room only takes 2 adults and a child and not an infant. I paid £6000 for this holiday - not a cheap deal! I contacted teletext and for 8 days was fobbed off and offered hotels in other areas which I continually said I didn't want. Asked for a refund and was fobbed off for 8 solid days!!!! II was constantly put through to the call centre in India and was spoken over consistently and told not to worry. I eventually got someone in the uk who refunded my accommodation. I was left with flights and then had to try and get accommodation through another company with only 2 weeks to go!!! Shambles of a company! Never ever will I book with them. Beware!!! They just want your money and aren't interested in helping!!!! Disgrace!!

We booked a week in Zante through Teletext holidays at what seemed to be a bargain price. The VERY KEEN agent talked through everything, times, flights, prices, what was/not included and it all seemed fine. It was cheaper but the flight times were really bad so we assumed this was what cut the price. Alarm bells should have rung that this company is not great when we had no paperwork through having sent the balance of the bill. When we did get it it seemed all in order but said in one part price including baggage - further down the page said' checked in luggage - 0' but at this point we hadn't checked in so assumed this was fine. We got to the airport - me, hubby & 8 year old son only to check in & find we hadn't had luggage included. Hand luggage - fine. The rest for the week away - not. So out of the spending money we had then had to pay up around £100. We were told it'd be the same coming back. So all in all a chunk of cash gone. On our return we complained to Teletext and also Thomson (the holiday was a Thomson one using Teletext). Teletext replied basically saying we did put it in the letter so tough. We questioned who would go away for a week with a child and not take luggage - nothing. But Thomson haven't even bothered to respond. Appalling service from both. We remain shocked by how we have been treated.

You have already contacted us twice and dismissed our complaints about lack of customer service and especially clarity. We could understand this if we had been booking ourselves online but as we were talked through the booking on the phone by an agent and no mention was ever made about luggage and then the paperwork (when it eventually came) was thoroughly unclear, we are still thoroughly fed up.
We intend to let everyone we know how shoddy you are when looking after people. We spent half our holiday spending money paying for luggage so will not stop telling people not to book through Teletext.

In fact they told me if I have a problem then I can't complain until I return from my holiday.
Don't think so Teletext, I am contacting ABTOL tomorrow.

Phone teletext holidays, looking for a price from Glasgow to Anastasia beach club in Cyprus, the agent gave me a price of £802, i told the agent i could get the holiday for £750 including baggage and transfers from another holiday company, the agent spoke to her supervisor and came back with a price of £749, credit card details given, agent disappeared, another agent appears new holiday price of £809, my mother stupidly agreed to the new price, tried calling teletext holiday to find out why the price increased so much, only 1 call was made at time of booking for 40 minutes, but teletext holiday cannot find the recording agreeing the £749 price - how convenient, the agents also have poor english, my advise to any looking to book a holiday DON'T use Teletext Holidays

Booked 4star all inclusive to lloret and was sold a 3 star. When I told the operator he told me I would be given a 4star. Given name of hotel 3 days prior to departure. I emailed Teletext holidays to change hotel. They said they couldn't as hotel I wanted was sold out, it wasn't as I checked! I emailed them again as I really didn't want to stay at the 3star dump they wanted to put me in. They ignored email so I called them, again they said they had responded. They were very abrupt and rude. They refused to change my hotel as I hadn't given them 8 days notice! How could I when they only gave me 3!!!! awful company, awful service. I won't be using them again. I will be using low cost holidays again-great friendly service

I booked my holiday with teletext holidays this summer. My transfer did not arrive and when I finally made contact with them they told me that the transfer had been cancelled and that I had been contacted with regard to this. I had not. Eventually I made alternative arrangements(at my own cost).Teletext refuse to pay me back, saying they just acted as agents for another transfer company. When I contacted the transfer company they say that the responsibility lies with teletext holidays. This is ongoing with teletext still refusing to pay ...My advise ...be very very careful , the company is o.k. when everything runs to plan, but when it doesn't ,don't expect them to help you out

i am writing the review at 5.43 in the morning and have been awake for hours!!!! I have booked a holiday with Frank at Teletext, I still have no hotel (Wednesday) and I go on Saturday, I have phoned them four times and they never ring back, I was booked in a hotel but Teletext have overbooked it so now would like me to stay in a one star hotel that sounds horrendous, shower curtain hanging off the wall, breakfast so bad people not going back after the first day, damp in the rooms, Frank and Gale said I can have an alternative hotel if I pay £100 more. When booking had to pay £110 more per person as I was told my date were not usuall Saturday to Saturday? I thought this was fairly standard!!!! I have booked budget holidays lots of times but will never book with company again. They hounded me with phone calls in the late evening and so I booked under pressure, but they never follow up on any call I have made since. I could go on for hours but what's the point, DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!!!

I was a loyal customer of teletext - I have booked 5 holidays with Teletext amounting to a spending total of around £2950 from October 2013-present. The way I have been treated by Teletext regarding my most recent holiday is absolutely appalling. I have been nothing but stressed since originally booking the holiday on the 28th June 2015. Below is a list of all the issues we encountered before and during our disappointing holiday: · Myself and my 3 friends booked a weekend break for my friend's birthday. We had an original spending budget of £200 per person - which I believe is quite reasonable for a self catering 2 night holiday. We found the deal on their website for £200 per person, staying in residential Casanova - Benidorm, so we phoned to book. After speaking to one of the agents for over an hour and a half - she advised that the price had gone up to £260 per person. As it was only £60 more than we originally budgeted for and the cheapest deal you had we decided to book it. · We paid £150 deposit each and the person I dealt with told us the final payment was due on the 31st August 2015. The hotel was advertised as being in Benidorm and she said it was in Benidorm so I trusted her. About a month after booking I decided to look up the hotel. After doing some research I found out that the hotel is in Calpe which is a 45 minute drive from Benidorm. I then called up one of the agents (I can't remember his name as I have spoken to so many different people - I had difficulty understanding him as I have with all agents.) The agent asked me for an extra £17 per person to change the hotel to Pierre en Vacances in Benidorm new town. I refused to pay this as I wasn't willing to spend money on something that wasn't my fault. The agent then said that he would listen to my original phone call and call me back within 48 hours. 72 hours later I still hadn't received a phone call as promised so called the agent back. The person I spoke to then said that no one had listened to the call and changed his story 5 minutes later to say that someone had listened to the call and that we specifically asked to be in Calpe. This is untrue. I go to Benidorm twice a year and would never ask to stay 45 minutes away from the town. · The agent said he would call back in 24 hours - again, I did not receive the promised call. I seem to have spent the past 2 months hanging around waiting for a phone call that never happens. · I had to call teletext again to resolve the hotel issue as no one had contacted me. This time, Pierre and Vacances was full and the only other hotel available was the Don Jorge hotel - the agent asked for £39 per person to change the hotel. Again, I refused to pay this as the price had doubled and I shouldn't have been paying for something that wasn't my fault. I explained to the agent I wasn't willing to pay and he said he'd speak to his supervisor and call me within the next 24 hours - of course, again, a lie. I didn't receive a phone call. I then received a letter from Teletext on the 21st August - dated the 20th August stating that they had tried to contact me numerous times and my payment was overdue. If I didn't pay the full amount by 4pm on the 21st then my holiday would be cancelled. I received this letter at 5pm on the 21st so was under the impression my holiday had been cancelled. · As mentioned above, the person I dealt with told us on the day we booked our holiday that we didn't have to pay the outstanding balance until the 31st August 2015. The statement "we have tried contacting you numerous times" is insulting and upsetting. They had my phone number, address and email address and not once did I hear anything from anyone at Teletext. · I instructed my solicitor to make contact with them as I was at breaking point. In his email he stated that the issue with our hotel needed rectifying within 72 hours. He didn't receive any form of contact and I will be instructing him again to make contact. He has never had a reply to his e-mail. · As I was worried about the holiday getting cancelled I took a loan out to pay for the remaining balance as none of the passengers had funds until the 31st August. I was fed up of arguing and spending so much time on the phone to teletext so in the end paid £39 per person to change the hotel to Don Jorge. I wasn't happy about paying for a mistake that I hadn't made but paid it to save myself from having any further distress. · The agent explained that he would send me a conformation email (to state the hotel change) within 24 hours. I did not receive this email. I called 24 hours later to ask for the email. I was again promised it would be sent within 24 hours. I did not receive this email. I checked my junk folder each time. 72 hours later I called again to ask for a conformation email of the hotel and was promised it would get sent that day. I did not receive this email. · I took to Facebook to express my concerns. An agent Mindy commented on my post and said she would call me the next morning. I did not receive this phone call. I commented on the post saying I had not received a call so another agent called me around midday. This was the first time since booking the holiday that I had received any type of communication from Teletext. He explained to me that the original hotel - Residencial Casanova had never been cancelled and that we had to pay 27% of the final cost to Residencial Casanova as a late cancellation charge. Of course I was furious about this and refused to pay. He said he would look into my case and call me back within 3 hours. I never received this phone call. · On the 7th September - 4 days before my departure date I received a conformation email stating that I was staying in "Residencial Casanova Don Jorge." This is the two hotel names merged together so didn't clarify which hotel we were staying in. By this point I was well and truly fed up of calling Teletext. Luckily, my friend speaks Spanish so he was able to call Don Jorge hotel and confirm we were staying there. · Because of the despicable way I had been treated by Teletext, I did not have high hopes about this holiday. What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend birthday break away turned into a stressful, nerve wracking and disastrous holiday from start to finish. · On arrival at the Don Jorge we had an hour long wait to get seen to check in. The hotel is advertised on the website as 3* and I do not believe it deserves this rating. During our stay the water shut off twice, the electricity cut out three times and the draining system in the shower didn't work. As you were taking a shower, the bath was filling up with dirty water. Don Jorge is a self catering apartment with no kettle, no toaster and an oven that didn't switch on. We had to pay a €20 deposit for a hair dryer - we had to walk for ten minutes just to get the hairdryer from their sister hotel, Palm Beach. The room was advertised as a 4 person room. The bedroom had 2 single beds and the living room had a sofa bed with no bedding. Both nights two of us had to sleep on a sofa fit for one child with no duvet or pillow. We weren't able to report this to reception as the reception was constantly closed. And as we were only away for 2 nights we didn't want to spend our whole holiday complaining. We were told by other guests that if we wanted another 2 single beds we would have to pay €180. · On the morning of our departure date we wanted to check out but no one was at reception. We waited an hour for a receptionist who then tried to charge us €80 for a late checkout. We refused to pay. · We asked the receptionist the time and pick up point of our transfers. She didn't have our name on the list so I contacted Holiday Taxis at 12pm. Holiday taxis told me that they would be there at 12 midnight on the 14th September to take us for our flight at 2am. I have no idea where they got this information from as by 12am on the 14th September we were in Bristol. · Our flight was at 22.10 so we were expecting a transfer at around 7pm. Holiday taxis then made us aware that because we were giving them less than 24 hours notice we were unable to change the time of our transfer. They told us to contact teletext. At 12.30pm I made a phone call to teletext. By 17.15 the issue was partly resolved. I did not imagine the last day of my holiday to be spent inside a stuffy hotel reception for 5 hours on the phone to numerous agents. I was advised that as holiday taxis couldn't help us I should pay for the taxi to the airport myself and claim the money back once I'd got home. As it was our last day we had run out of money. · We had paid for the transfers upfront so weren't expecting to have to pay any extra. None of us took credit cards with us so our friends and family at home couldn't send us money. A taxi from Don Jorge to Alicante airport was €75 and we could not get this money at such short notice. I even resorted to asking guests around the pool for €1 each to try and gather money together. This was highly embarrassing and insulting and we still couldn't gather any money. Angus was highly unhelpful and kept me on hold for hours on end. His only suggestion was to pay for a taxi and I kept explaining to him that we couldn't get the money and he told us he couldn't help. After being on the phone for 4 and a half hours I had a panic attack in the middle of the reception area in front of many guests. This was discomforting and mortifying and not how I envisioned spending my last day in Benidorm. · We paid £180 for a private taxi transfer as I suffer from claustrophobia and travel sickness and cannot travel via coach. Angus told us he was sending a private taxi to pick us up at 18.15. The transfer arrived and it was a coach - not what I paid £180 for but got on the coach anyway as there was no other way of us getting to the airport in time for our flight. From the booking date to present day I have experienced nothing but stress, worry and trouble. I wish we never booked this holiday. Holidays, for me, are meant to be a time to run away from daily stress and relax without concern. I have come back feeling worked up and anxious. I booked a short break away to get away from stress and because of your inept approach from the outset I did not get that. I am awaiting an immediate reply from Teletext and would advise all customers to re consider before giving your hard earned money to this disgusting excuse for a company.

Teletext are shocking, i agree with many other customers that this is by far the worst company i have dealt with. They never meet there on-line prices, conveniently they sell out and your offered much higher prices!!!! Teletext did not book our accommodation, our hotel were unaware we were due to arrive. Fortunately they had availability but the last 4 days we were consistently calling teletext to get confirmation otherwise would be paying twice. From the first initial complaint they promise a call back within 24/48 hours, 2 months later this we have never had a call back! i call every week, they tell you customer relations only operate via email, which they never response too!!!! Dreadful, shocking, but don't let your complaint go

After I wrote the review it took your company almost a week to send a confirmation, arriving with me less than a week before my holiday. My holiday was only ok and the hotel was not as good as the one I originally chose - and after many days of searching for just the right one. You have absolutely no business telling anyone they are booked, especially when you have the customer on hold while you talk to the supplier, when evidently you are not booked. Never known such a thing, which is probably because it shouldn't happen. I stand by my review here and am busy telling anyone not to use your company. I would be interested in what you have to say though, using the e mail on my booking info.
